gamesas has made it clear that PC and PS3 owners are second-class citizens. In response, I don't intend to purchase gamesas titles anymore. They're treating me poorly in an attempt to get more revenue out of Microsoft, but in turn they're getting less revenue from me. Other consumers need to vote with their wallet.

I'm normally a PS3 player, but when it comes to Bethesda's videogames, I've learnt that the PC version is just the best. Better graphics, and, above everything: mods, mods and more mods.
As long as the dlc is only a temporary exclusive, I won't complain much. But it's still a stupid strategy. Microsoft should just learn to create good and original exclusive games, like Sony does, instead of keeping on this lame dlc trend on the multiplatform products.

I mean, is anyone here going to buy Bethesda's videogames on the Xbox360 only because they get the DLC first? I should guess not.

Thank you for a nice well-reasoned, unemotional response. In my opinion and based on my dealings with MS in many different aspects, I would expect DLC on Game for Windows LIVE or whatever it is, in the not too distant future. It only makes sense, they are BOTH MS platforms and let's be honest, Gamebryo games play better on MS platforms.

PS3 owners, I'm sorry Sony didn't step up to plate. I'm sorry you bought the wrong console for this game, but please quit maligning MS. If Sony had the gotten the exclusive DLC you'd be nuking these forums with how lame it is to own an Xbox because Sony Exclusives are so much superior. Read ANY gaming forum and tell me I'm wrong.

*To the Mod (sorry can't remember your name) that said early in this topic, tell me any game with a great campaign AND multi-palyer, I offer Halo:Reach - I don't do multi-player, but I hear it is stellar. Campaign: Halo:Reach surprisingly was MY pick for GotY after that albeit short, but heart-wrenching campaign. Thankfully a few smaller sites also gave it GotY along with LOTS of lesser awards from ALL the big sites.

**I am also personally VERY opposed to multi-player for ANY FO or ES gamesas, game. I was only contridicting your reasoning.

I hate to say this my good man, but to say that PS3 owners as a whole, as in EVERYBODY that owns a PS3 is about as mature as the fools on Jersey Shore, is both stupid and illogical.

Thats like me saying "HAR U OWN A XBOX UR STUPID BECAUSDSDE ALLS YOU GGUY PLAY IS FIRST PARSON SHATTER!! HAHAHHA LOLOLOLOL!"

I realize this may not have been your intention, but look at your second paragraph. To label somebody as a fool because they own a certain console is just idiotic.

I don't fully comprehend most of your post, but from what I can interpret, you are bothered by the obvious MS dominance in the gaming world.

That's how I felt when Sony nuked Nintendo. MS has some smokin' products and exclusive deals, but for 2011 SONY has more exclusive than Xbox so far. OMG should I be SCEAMING about that and how unfair it is????

Oh and also 'the ONLY problem with the PS3 is voicechat'. Guess again. But from what I've read 2011 is again going to be the year of the PS3 (how many times have we heard this).... even with EIGHT MILLION kinect sales in 2 months. Source Washinton Post:

And Mashable

Enjoy FO:NV on your PS3 or if you are in a better financial situation than me BUY an Xbox to more fully enjoy it. But don't get so worked up over a slight to your console of CHOICE.

I wont lie the year of the ps3 started in around 05-06 and it has yet to hit >_< ,during those times i only had a ps3 and ever since the summer long game drought i had a personal vendetta with sony >_<.Like 5 months of no new games other then cod4 made me so bored i can still remember it.

Tbh if i didnt own 360/ps3 i would vote but yeah -_- Sorry for my lazyness.

Tbh it is illological to think that a console purchase makes u mature .

For what i know ps3 has the system advantage while microsoft has the software advantage.

I wholeheartedly agree with everything the OP says.

This timed exclusive BS on the xbox makes me not want to buy your DLC when it comes out for my platform. Is the amount of sales you're losing justify the amount of money for which you [censored]d yourself out to Microsoft? Kinda svcks that we PC gamers were there for you when you needed us, but now that the shoe is on the other foot, you p*ss in our faces and laugh all the way to the bank.

And co-op mode? How could you possibly form any type of rational argument AGAINST co-op mode? Take fallout 3 exactly as it is now, and make it so you can have 1 person along side you. Oblivion, exactly as it is now, with your best friend gaming along with you. If you don't like it, don't use it.

It can work the other way, too - Bioshock had exclusive PS3 content and that came out after the PC and 360 versions.

To say nothing of system-exclusive games - look how many potential sales are being lost by Uncharted, Killzone etc ....

If Bethesda can't properly design Vault Doors what makes you think they can properly design a co-op mode? =)

hmmm I guess I am the only one that really doesn't care either way, well I do have all 3 consoles and 2 PC and a laptop. 1 can run new vegas, the other 2 need major upgrades.

Was thinking of buying a mac, but don't have the money.

I really don't understand why everyone, well most everyone is so pissed about this. even if I didn't have all 3 consoles I wouldn't care. I also don't have a favorite game developer. They are just like a painter or a carpenter. They make a product and I buy it. Well thats if it interests me. I keep games around until they have no more interest to me. I then sell them at gamestop for a game that peeks my interests.

As for coop for fallout well it would work, but it be to much like Army of 2 :bolt:

the reason this strategy works is because a lot of the people buying the game go out and re-buy it when a DLC come out for the exclusive console. in the end it works for both parties.

buy the game for only 1 system and this will stop happening. just get some patients they are going to release it to pc and ps3 eventually, if they don't then thats horrible business strategy on beths part.

Microsoft & it's "throw money at the XBox to make it more popular!" tactics have bugged me since they bought up Bungie Studios (a great long-time Mac-first team) and switched Halo 1 from a Mac/PC simultaneous release into an XBox first, PC eventually, oh hey they finally released a Mac version, release. (And then went further by making the PC release of Halo 2 into a crowbar to force Vista upgrades. Still haven't played that game. :sadvaultboy: )

And to top that off, I did buy the PC release for Halo 2 and couldn't get it to run under Windows 7.

Dungeon Siege is fairly old, I know, but it is a Microsoft game. I tried installing in Windows 7 to get a Dungeon Siege mod/TC to run (the Ultima V and Ultima VI remakes) and had tons of problems. It seems most people can't get a Microsoft game to run under Windows 7 at all.

Microsoft doesn't provide much legacy support for their own products.

This thread's topic title is a quote from Pete Hines, Bethesda's VP. So obviously the rapacity factor is more important to these Corporate criminals(thanks Grace Jones for springing the nomenclature to mind here for me)than any sentiments the fans on both consoles, not to mention pc, may have for this 'franchise' and it's canon. Yes, I'm flogging a dead horse of a subject, but I feel incensed enough to actually log into my account here in the hope that my disgust for this practice sifts thru all the levels to Pete's desk. I mean, what company are we dealing with here? Activision? It smells like their kind of creed & it's practise repulses me nearly as much as the treatment meted out to Infinity Ward's former leaders. All I can say is stop it. It's as illogicol as not providing any online co-op capabilities in the two Fallout titles as yet released by you(Imagine all the extra sales if folk could actually play these brilliant games online with a mate!). I can understand the need for a quick buck off of a bigger, sometimes carnivorous "partner", but to what expense are you signing yourselves away when you practice what is repugnant to those of us whom are your real bread & butter? Food for thought next time MS comes circling for exclusivities 2 years down the track...

Back in early January I started this thread, bemoaning what I felt were injustices to PS3 & PC Fallout players whom may have felt a little left out in the cold viz. the untimely releases of dlc for Fallout 3. My original post provoked some discussion from other fans, but due to what I feel is the higher average intelligence level of Fallouts fanbase , it never denigrated in to a you tube style console sland fest which is all to common sadly on the net(btw how old is the average Fallouts 3 & NV player?). I actually was expecting as longer wait this time around for NV' dlc and I was pleasantly surprised to find it sitting awaiting purchase in NZ's (badly shaken-up)psn store. I would like to thank Bethesda for their announcement that the fute NV dlc will be made available simultaneously on all xbob, ps3 AND pc. I'm looking forward to bashing fairies, in Skyrim, if they are there for the bashing as well.
I do have a question though. Ever since I installed the new dlc, the game has been freezing up shortly after I load into new areas of the game(particularly in Freeside), or on loading a new area I get stuck watching the load roulette wheel spin it's oh so slow spin. Someone mentioned that the dlc being released on xbox first enables the devs to iron out any bugs. Well, failing my ps3 going into Epic Fail mode(the thing is only six months old, which could mean nothing, or everything). Is this a widespread problem with the dlc(I'm going to search it herein after I finish posting)? I notice the game played just fine up until I got the dlc, tho I hadn't played it for a month or so because I was too mad at Bethesda going exclusive on us again to gain any enjoyment from it without that coming to mind. I just can't play it without constantly saving incase i get caught in a loop. It gets extremely bad and start glitching along when things heat up action wise onscreen.
