Exclamation marks

Post » Tue Mar 15, 2011 4:19 am

Being new to mods I have read all the information I could find and did not have any problem installing Open Better Cities .The main problem is every city has many large exclamation marks on diamond shaped yellow backgrounds .What does this amount to and is there a way of eliminating them ? I wouldn't think it was a normal conflict with the other plug ins .

Thank you,

The problem you describe is a symptom of missing meshes. Check the readme and make sure you have ALL requirements installed.

And not just installed, in the right places. Most common error is one folder up or down from the right location. E.g. you have a Data folder inside the Data folder, instead of merging them.

I think OBC is packed all right, unless...installing OBC MANUALLY?! What?! No...

To begin with I would like to thank all who answered for their help .I did the install using the OMM .After looking through the files I can find nothing relating to meshes .The instructions do say (Download #2 - Open Better Cities Resources v#-#-# .Create an OMOD, and activate the OMOD .) but I cannot find a file by this name .

Could the OMM possible put the files in the wrong folder ? If this doesn't work out I can always turn off the mod but is there a way to uninstall these without uninstalling the entire game ? Just curious .

I just have to point out that people usually call the Oblivion Mod Manager "OBMM," haha. Anyway, the instructions are telling you to create an OMOD out of the OBC resources file, which I assume you did not download. You should probably grab it and the patches: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17084.

Edit: Keep in mind that support for that mod is no longer available, officially anyway.

Right you are OBMM . Sometimes you can't take me anywhere, even back to apologize . Oh, and thanks for the link .

I did see that it was no longer supported and just thought I would give it a try .If it doesn't work out I will move on to another .

Well, I am giving up on this mod because the Resource file is 270MB and I am on dial up so I wouldn't live long enough to download it .

Thanks again to all .
