Exclusive Light Area's

That would be pretty cool, but couldn't be a required place to go, considering it's not always there is a light on the team.

It might be possible that you can blow it from the outside as any bodytype. I doubt there will be bodytype only objectives.

This makes me wonder how matchmaking will takr bodytype into account and if you can see the bodytype of others before a game starts.

Yeah there might be soldier/light objectives.
That could work.

Light only areas as I understand it are places that are only accessable by using the SMART system.

Side missions can unlock to blow open alternative routes for everyone.

I think that the lights should just ride on the heavy's back like in bioshock.

Someone give this man a turtle.

I think this is the best idea ever! Especially since I'm going to be a heavy, just give me a light medic to ride on my back and we're in business!

If that was the third tier of a Heavies shielding ability ...

Mobile turret incoming!

Reconsider HOW grenades/grenade launchers work.

Well, i know how it works, its just if you have no idea where they are shooting you from, and you only have a limited window of time before your dead, then the chances of getting them are pretty slim (Depending on how well they are hidden and how well your shot is). Plus (if im not mistaken) the grenade launcher in Brink is more a crowd control weapon (ie. knocking people away/down. Not killing them)

To add something,

I could have sworn I heard somewhere that there are alleyways that are too narrow for Heavies to fit into.

Aside from being a huge f*** you, the alleyway also calls you fat... can you handle the rage?

Nothing confirmed of course, be it would be interesting to see, especially if Heavies could sidle through said alleyways at a snail's pace.

Furthermore, it would take out a few learning curves to give even a newbie incentive to go lightweight.

[edit:] To SD, I'd like to see a universal ability called "butter" now.

Why would they rage, and why would they bother with said alleyways? heavies would stick to where they access and where they are most effective.

I voted no, not because it would be unfair to mediums and heavies but for a different reason.

This game is based on objectives and its emphasised in most videos ive seen that straying too far from the pack will mean your objective cant be completed, if we have alot of light people on thier own separate inaccessible playing areas then the objective wont be the focal point of the game for all players, sure have routes that only lights can use, that is the perk of being a light, but to have a separate area completely would filter down some of the fast paced teamplay were expecting.

Soz, the rage part was sarcasm (I forget it is impossible to catch).

It's sort of referencing a picture I saw once that said:

"You have been banned from [censored], can you handle the rage?"

The comment had nothing more to do with heavies than any other comment, after all we are talking about "exclusive light areas."

I think you are missing the point of the operative.

It would be funny if a heavy got stuck and they had to butter buff him.

Multiple grenades will kill a light. And once you know the spots (there won't be many for sure), it's easy to smoke them out.

Pretty sure there will be some exclusive light zones, why else would he be able to climb higher and all?

I just answered my own question in my head by saying ''is it becuase of speed?

Still think there will be a few spots

If they have exclusive Light areas they should have specific areas for the other classes, which would be hard to do.

I don't think that's needed, at all.

Choosing the Light bodytype got alot of cons, ex: Less Health, less ''powerful'' weapons, less choice of weapons.

Giving them specific flank points, routes, *bird nests, and vantage points would be a pro for them, making people want to choose that body type more often (maybe?)

*Bird Nest - 360 view sniper spot

That pretty much sums it up. Exclusive light areas are almost a must to make them balanced.

And players will eventually learn the spots, and then they'll also be able to check them for Light players, and perhaps.. Blow their [censored] to [censored] so they'll reveal themselves?

*It will be balanced -

Indeed, no spot will be secret forever. The most used spots will probably easy accessible. Maybe with a few exceptions here and there.

If a light player has a sniper rife it could get annoying. Other then that I see no problems with it.

That kinda is the point of it, that they get extra routes and extra vantage points to snipe from.

The Light can choose from:

Primary: SMGs
Secondary: Pistols, Revolvers, Machine Pistols, Light Rifles (''Sniper Rifles'')

So, yepp.

There are no actual 'sniper rifles' in the game. Only weapons with a scope attachment. So it probably wouldn't be annoying at all
