"Exclusive Reveals"

Post » Mon May 02, 2011 9:34 pm

Thanks for sharing, LukeSkyrimmer. I tweeted Pete about it and asked if this is the "new info" we are getting this month.

I would think so? Other press saw the demo, so GT will not be the only ones with a preview. XPLAY will have an interview and Electric Playground. I think IGN will have a preview article on the demo too.

Oh gods I hope not :shakehead:

This is why I was confused. Your possible spoilers flew in the face of everything we know about the gods of Tamriel...

Akatosh = Alduin = Auri-El. They're separate aspects of the same thing, while existing at the same time. It's.....difficult to explain simply.

Anyway, like Haresus said, every Aedra and Daedra and et'Ada are parts of the same, multifaceted being. Alduin is not the son of Akatosh.

Do you have a bed time?

This reminds me of the last week when I went to gamestop to pick up my 3DS.

*kid that look to be about 8 and his mom"
Kid: Mom I want these games!
Mom: Aren't they a little to old for you?
Kid: No! *Whiney voice* all my friends have them.

So the mom buys them for her son, I peaked over when they were checking out, and the mom just bought her kid Call of Duty: Black Ops and Grand Theft Auto: IV

Parents these days...

I agree. People nowadays think that the rating Mature means it's for mature people. In reality it's for people 17+.

You know you don't have to watch it on the TV right when it airs right?

I'm sure it'll be plastered all over every gaming website the next morning.

Probably better to watch on my tv though. Bigger screen.

I remember when a member of Rockstar was interviewed on the BBC, accusing GTA of violance in children or something or other. but anyway he just came out with "If you buy your children any of our games you are a bad parent". Nontheless, everyone was silenced and they all moved on. it's true, its down to the parents to decide whats best for the children.

"The main plot thickens when Alduin turns out be the evil demigod half-son of Akatosh"

DAMMIT! :banghead:

Other than this, where I'm not sure if it'll be them talking with the background being the reveal trailer playing rather than new footage, should be quite a handful of articles from IGN to shacknews and all the little and big sites within.

Yea, there isn't going to be new footage, but there should be a lot of previews.

I thought you said that Pete confirmed it's going to be the gameplay demo they showed Game Informer? That to us is new footage.

EVERYONE!!!

Mankar_Camoran:

@DCDeacon I was wondering if the new Skyrim info we are getting this month is the GTTV feature on Skyrim? Is there more? Thanks.

DCDeacon:

@Mankar_Camoran A lot more than that coming next week on Skyrim. Dozens of outlets with coverage. New screens.

Thats the ESRB rating though, the devs know who their audience is and their audience should play their games. 8 year old kids should not play GTA. 8 year old kids should be allowed to play T for Teen games even if those Teen games are for 13+

Im 14, I'm not gonna let my little brother who is 11 play Skyrim. But I am definitely old enough to play Skyrim, or any M rated game out there. I am just not allowed to buy those M rated games.

Sorry, I probably should have worded it differently. The Skyrim demo that was shown to the press this past week is the same one Game Informer saw for their world exclusive reveal. We are not SEEING any footage from this demo. We'll be READING previews from the press on what they saw.

Nice! Even though we'll probably have to wait until E3 for new footage, screens are really nice too!

Far as games go their entertainment. ESRB doesn't have the power or the people to be standing with each parent and assessing if their child has the mentality to play a certain game and treat it as entertainment and afterwards go back to playing sports with friends/chilling/etc. without treating the video game as anything other than entertainment...in this overconsuming society(Myself also guilty.)

End of the day its up to the individual. I played GTA III before 17. It was a video game to me. I didn't want to shoot a person or throw a cab driver out and steal his car. My parents knew I could handle it so they bought me it.

Onto the individual families. If you know your kid is too young and can't handle it don't give the game to him. Hell what it might mean is to lay him or her off TV, internet, games, etc.

Too much entertainment is a bad thing. Make them help you do stuff. Go make friends, play sports or etc. as an alternative entertainment form if electronics are the output of all their attention. Don't remove them entirely though.

Yes they could join a gang and go shooting people or be paid to be a lookout.

Question is how have you raised your kids and what values have YOU given them.

Families need to all be accountable of eachother.

Hopefully these are really new screens and not the last batch of GI screens released in high res. Also, hopefully all of these previews at least have one different piece of info and they are not all one in the same.

Yeah, it's going to be pretty disappointing if it's just all the same stuff we already knew/saw.

I remember, though, Game Informer saying Todd and the team were itching to talk about other things but couldn't at the time. Maybe these things were discussed at these press meetings, and we'll get some of that info? Maybe just wishful thinking though.
