For Role Players

What excuses do you make up for things that just don't make sense? I have a lot of justifications but I can remember only two atm. And there is a chance they might already be explained by game makers but I'm to lazy to look on the wiki.

1) The food in the barrels all over towns being free for grabs. For this I've made up an entire little story but I'll cut it short not to bore. Priests of Mara put food in barrels and urns for the poor. Sometimes to gain Mara's favor home owners put barrels outside their homes and either fill themselves or let the priests fill.

2) Why items are marked stolen and can only be sold to a fence. I can't pretend that my char can't see this mark. Just can't. So I've made up this: Julianos marks items in the world he deems personal property. It is also my explanation for why I can dump items anywhere and no one picks them up (unless scripted to do so in Markarth).

I have more but I can't remember them now. Have you made up anything to explain away what does not make sense?
