I've seen lots of requests for more Asian themed mods here over the years and this is one of the best to come along. Really well done throughout :)

I got a few hair pics for you (till the game locked up and would no longer minimize so I could swap out meshes..Mw is terribly finicky that way :gun: )

anyhow here's what I did get..makes me wish I'd put more than 40 slots in my wig esp :P

A little help here, please?
When I select my character with this mod, I receive the following error:

Missing first person body part
"b_n_asian_m_handka.1st."

My game then freezes :(

Here is the relevant section from my Warnings file:

Missing first person body part 'b_n_asian_m_handska.1st'.
Missing first person body part 'b_n_asian_m_handska.1st'.
Missing first person body part 'b_n_asian_m_handska.1st'.
Missing first person body part 'b_n_asian_m_handska.1st'.

I am using the nvde version .esp, fyi.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is there a way I can fix it? I'm pretty sure I installed it correctly (twice, just to be sure).

Thanks in advance for the help :)

I'll take a look at it, Salamandar.
I should have something to tell you tomorrow (as I have been on my feet since 3:30am, and I am beginning to "hit a wall" right now ... :banghead: )

:snoring:

EDIT: are you running Master Sam's Makunde in conjunction with this?
If so, then the issue is not with this mod, but that mod (as I did not set up the bodyparts in my
mod with such a naming convention; mine all begin with WAR_blah_blah_blah, etc).

Sam's mod and this one are most likely not compatible (as I created this mod for those that
might not use his great mod). While the two mods share the race, Sam may have made
some changes in his versions, thus rendering the two incompatible with one another (as far
as the race is concerned *sad clown face* )

Yes, I was running Master Sam's Makunde. in conjunction with your mod.

When I disabled that mod (Master Sam's Makunde), the errors disappeared.

Apparently, they are not compatible.

Thank you very much for identifying the error and offering a solution, Westly!

Wow. Can't believe I hadn't seen this. I'll have to give it a try! The Robes look excellent. I needed more robes in my mod! Can anyone tell me the price ranges on them?

I'm very sorry about all the trouble and conflict. The mod seems to have problems with the 1st person textures and I'm not sure whats going on. Is there no way I can fix Makunde to be compatable with Exiles of Akavir?

I imported all the meshes in but I added a 'ka' ID at the end of the bodypart which I thought would make them compatable. Would this mean that all the cases which I did that they would conflict? Ouch....

Of course the robes are for both sixes, I just did not feel the need to take screens
of both for every single one (when one screen for each robe on one six was enough
to show the "look" of the robe for both :) ). It would kind of silly of me just to make
one robe set for both sixes, but leave the rest for the other six alone :).

Sam-
What was the issue with the first person textures after you merged this with your mod?
The easiest way to merge this would have been to load your Makunde mod (before this
race was added), and then load the Exiles of Akavir .esp at the same time in the CS (setting neither
as active). Then, in the CS, go to File/Combine Loaded Plugins, and select a target .esp that
you can overwrite (I usually keep a few copies of a "blank" .esp in my Data Files for such). Once that is
done, the two plugins would then be merged. Then, it would be a matter of reassiginng the race to all of
your NPCs as you see fit (and the race would work as I had it set up without issue). Now, when it comes time
to clean the combined .esp (if using TESAME), you will notice some "blank" world cells added at the bottom.
These are a result of a merge, so be sure to clean those out of the .esp along with any other nasties (GMSTs,
and whatever bits from my version of the mod that you did not feel of which was needed using). If you changed
the race, after (like renaming them from Nakan to Chine), then the mods would still be compatible (as whatever
mod made the last change would take precedence). However, giving anything a new ID would prove
disasterous, as then the two mods would no longer be compatible (lest you reset up the race from scratch, which I
can assure you is not something that need be done, lest one aggravates a growing "carpal tunnel" ;) ).

People are having issues with the races hands in 1st person - they can't see them (they're invisible).

I would give a go at what you've written, but I don't have a copy of the mod before I added your Nakan. Is there no other way I can fix it? I've started making a quest for it already. :(

The "invisible" first person issue is usually a result of using the "enableracemenu"
command. Sometimes, when changing races, the first person hands will seem to
disappear, but, after saving and then reloading, the hands should appear
fine (so this is a game bug, and not necessarily an issue with the setup of the
bodyparts in the CS).

No, I'm afraid this is my fault since I've tried it from the beginning with the race and the enableracemenu too and the Chine still don't have hands. If this is a CS error, maybe I can fix it - I can run them both at the same time and my game doesnt crash (then again, I'm using the 'Yes to All' function when the game loads up). Seeing as the issue is with Makunde not with Exiles of Akavir..hmmm. Hey Westly, how should the 1st person be set up?

Salamandar - were you having issues selecting the 'Chine' race? Or Westley's original Nakan?

First person anything(hands, robes, gloves, etc) should have the same ID as the bodypart to which they are partnered (with .1st added to the end of the ID, no spaces in between the ID and the .1st). So, for instance (in the case of race parts), one were to call the Third Person hand WAR_BLAHBLAH_Hand then the First Person part should be called WAR_BLAHBLAH_Hand.1st

Another point of note is to be sure that, even though the ID's are essentially the same, that the parts are directed to the proper models/.nifs (so the Third Person hands would use the BB body model, and the First person hands would use the First person "hands alone" model ;) ).

I hope that this helps :)

Take Care

Woo! Thanks for the help Westly - I've found out that I labled the bodyparts wrong, but it's all fixed now. And, even better, I've run it with Exiles and both races work together. I'll release an update addressing this issue soon. Thanks again for all your help :goodjob:

The Chine race.

Because this is Westly's Exiles of Akavir thread, I want to make it reeeeeeally clear that once my game was running with Exiles of Akavir activated by itself, and chose the Nakan race, there were no problems -- so people who are just somewhat casually looking at this thread will understand.

It would be wonderful if the Makunde mod were compatible with this one :)

Thanks so much to the both of you for creating interesting mods for Morrowind. It's always a pleasant surprise to see what people with some creativity and Morrowindosity can deliver :)
Mod addicts like me love it ;)

Salamandar

I knew the Chine race was buggy  .

Would anyone mind testing this simple fix I made?
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7V29VOFQ

It works fine on my game but I'd like to make sure it works on other people's before I upload it anywhere.

Cheers,
Sam

I ran this with both the Exiles of Akavir and Makunde activated. No errors this time :)

Looks like the fix worked!

Been a big fan of your work in the past. Both your half-troll and felbourne goblin have given me countless hours of fun in their respective games! My only issue, though, are the lack of sound effects. My biggest pet peeve with new races are lack of sounds. I hate roleplaying deaf-mute hamsters! Other than that, this one looks really good! Just wish she had a cute Asian voice to go with her cute Asian face. :)

Just a quick nudge as I ponder giving the male robes a mesh overhaul while also making
said robes available in a singular clothing mod (apart from the race :) ).
