These are the features implemented so far:
  • Successive growth of the compound, based on the player returning with map data. Guards are added, as are new defensive features, furniture and supplies, in steps.
  • New skins for the ranger helmet and armour.
  • New item: ballistic mask. Worn by some rangers, will be available to the player.
  • New themed idle packages for named characters. Brick works out, Donovan works in the workshop etc. Needs work.
  • Store, run by an independent entrepreneur. Not voiced so far. Appears after a few steps of the expansion. Needs work.
  • A player-owned tent will eventually appear. Could be implemented in a more elegant way. Needs work.

Planned features:
  • Post MQ Broken Steel additions.
  • Adding additional protection to named characters (especially Donovan).
  • Quests?
  • Additional items?
  • Additional content borrowed (with permission) from other mod authors?

I'm eventually going to have to learn the dialogue system... I've had nothing but trouble the few times I've meddled with it. :cryvaultboy:

There's a vanilla ability called CrowleySurviveAssist which could easily be used as RangerSurviveAssist as well. ;)

Yep, I know. I had more ambitious plans though, which would practically guarantee their immortality unless the player attacked them. I have the concept, but it required a bit too much playtesting and I figured that's for version 2. Right now I just set them all to essential once the quest is done. It should only affect Donovan really, unless you're doing something really strange. :)

If i may, i want to make a suggestion / request.
I think that it would be graet if as part of expanding the rangers,
you will make them a real rival force to talon company.

Make them a notable "good" faction which will unite all the decent mercenaries of the wastland.

Maybe even a short quest or two to help them recruit some more "good" mercs,
or to help them in some huge fight against the talons and / or muties,
or maybe retrieve something very importent and / or dangrous from the talons, etc.

And maybe some mysterious stranger will pay the rangers alot of caps to drive the talons out of the capitol building...

Its unlimited.. (-:

Well, Donovan is the only one that Reilly sends on little errands in the Wasteland alone. When he first approached me he was under attack, so I used SCC to heal and set him to essential.

Here's an idea:
At first the rangers, when you meet them should have the original ranger battle armor and when you progress with the rangers, their uniforms change to the new ones you made for this mod?
This would would be really interesting to allow the player to see another aspect on the changes in the rangers. Let me know what you think.

The retexture I made isn't really spectacular enough to make it an upgrade. I have thought about doing variants, like flightsuits and other clothing, expecially for the new recruits.
