MP Experience!

Yo!

There's a lot of hate being thrown around here and other forums for this game, some of it is kinda valid but most of it is utter tripe.

I had my first hour online last night, and man what a blast I had! Experienced two hackers, which made me laugh quite a bit. But you know, it didn't actually bother me that much, only the shortness of the games! The MP quality is ten times better than the demo was, and I'm really happy I paid my cash out for the game.

The SP is out of this world amazing, so 'nuff said there.

Looking forward to the improvements that will eventually arrive, but I'm in no way feeling that I've been shafted with this game. So people, lighten up!

Cheers

I've not looked, but are there any lists around of what was supposed to be in game and in fact isn't?
Other than the blatantly obvious DX11 fiasco.

Oh yeah, the game can be a lot of fun, but that doesn't make this situation better, it makes it worse.

In a post on the game's official web site, Crytek states, "Rest assured that although the demo does not have these features installed, our team has been working for some time on various anti-cheat measures that have been introduced for the retail release of Crysis 2."

You want a list of things that aren't in the game that are suppose to be there, I could go on for literally days with a list. Anti-Cheating being one of them, it's not so much that anti-cheating measures haven't been taken even though thats true, but that Crytek has been so bad about making its customers feel optomistic about this game, that there isn't even a single STICKY thread in the forum about reporting Fraudulent activity or anything. NOTHING! Not only are they not doing anything to remove cheating from the game that I can see, they are actually incuraging it!

How? Well, for one thing the only way for an admin to remove a cheater is to shut down their entire server. I've seen this done so many times its sad. Not only that, but in order for an owner of a server to be able to kick a player or ban them, is if they BUY, let me repeat that, BUYYYYYY a program called Admin Tools. So it makes it seem as though Crytek has acutally got people working for them, going around cheating so that servers will want to buy their Admin Tools to remove them. How much more repulsive could it get, all the customers want is some kind of hope that this game will be saved from having to be thrown in the trash but there are no signs that I can see so far. I work in marketing and if I only worked for this company I could have gotten them not only a much larger fan base, but created ways that this game could bring in millions of more customers than it will due to all the bad publicity the company is getting for these very simple mistakes.

I've not actually looked into the dedicated servers, but by the sounds of it that's very underhanded of the dev/pub to charge for the service and then secondary charge for the control of that server.

I agree that the communication from the Crytek employees has been well below par, but if they genuinely are working on something that can fix any of the problems that have / haven't been listed then surely that's the main priority.

Thanks for the well constructed post, much appreciated :)

MP is fun, but the game seriously needs a votekick or admin kick. Seems like every second server has someone using cloak and speed hacks and the amount of hackers is only getting worse.

I'm extremely disappointed with Crysis 2, my favourite things about Crysis were playing Power Struggle on LAN and the editor and this has neither.
Didn't get anything I wanted, Crytek F***ed up big time with this...

It's a shame that alot of MP games are moving away from the LAN environment. Like JonDumela said, it's just another way of hoiking money off of people.
I would be very surprised if the editor isn't added at all. And adding more MP modes isn't something entirely out of the question? Surely.
