I'm a teriyaki sauce nut. I make my own simple teriyaki sauce (soy sauce, garlic, sugar, in proportions that suit your taste, that's it), most store-bought ones are way way too sweet or have weird off-flavors.
--Years & years ago when we were poor 18 y.o's, Macaroni & Cheese w/hamburger & teriyaki sauce mixed in.
--Teriyaki sauce & sliced tomatoes/jalepenos mixed into scrambled eggs.
...but most "experiments" that turn out well are my attempts at somewhat imitating something I like from a restaurant...I don't look for/follow a recipe, I buy the known ingredients and wing it. Most of my pasta and stir-fry/soups come from that kind of experimenting.
