Mine would be my CPU, I think it has become an icon around here, since most people can tell exactly who is posting without looking at the name, just the avatar.

I originally had my http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e223/Les_Punk/CompletelyDifferent.jpg avatar. I'm not quite sure why I picked it, but it suited me for a good 3 years. I eventually got bored and decided to look for a new one. I figured I'd keep the tradition going and got my Spanish Inquisition one.

as for why, he's my favorite author. my dad gave me Red Planet as a kid so it's kind of for sentimental reasons.

(I'm also proud to say that after all this time I've managed to reduce the drooling while watching that video to an acceptable level.) One of my previous avatars was actually from that video, 1:29 - 1:32.
