Un-explainable crashing?

Post » Sat Jan 10, 2009 5:41 am

In the in-game console, ever since it first crashed (Crysis 1) , after palying.

this appears:
r_FSAA= 0 [dumptoodisk_restart_app]
r_FSAA_sample= 0 [dumptoodisk_restart_app]
r_FSAA_quatinty= 0 [dumptoodisk_restart_app]
it wont go away? And I've restarted the game and o. system a lot of times already.

I've already debugged some major errors in some games, but this one annoyed me?
It appears right when you load your profile in the menu. and then when you start playing, after 15-16 mins. The system crashes.

Says it every time for me, if i recall correctly. It's simply stating that FSAA (Full Screen Anti-Aliasing) is disabled.

Are you using any custom configs/autoexec files?

Nope, just updated to Patch 1.2, an hour ago. And suddenly, it crashes in a few minutes. I'm just thankful its no showing the blue screen of death.

Any windows error box show up when it crashes? Does it crash all the way back to desktop or just back to the game menu?

Does your game.log file say anything else?

Actually as it turns out. It goes right back to desktop and the action center says, your system recovered from a serious error.
And it mentions something about a "mini_dump", when it gets back to the desktop.
The console also has a large number of errors (involving gfx. and object.cc.)

The pc was still cooled and not exceeding 27*c.

Here's the input in the console, right before it crashes. I had to take a screenshot.

That's fairly common. I get lots of flash errors too and my game still runs fine. Have you tried reinstalling the game?

Just did, had no other choice. Lost all the old save files from last use.
After which installed a new gpu, causing the performance and quality to be re-evaluated. Just hope it doesn't crash again.

Works better now, Thanks for the feedback though :)

are you over-clocking your graphics card~? does your PSU have enough power to do so? are you using anything like RIVA-TUNER or such like? maybe it's your PC itself, re:some over-clocked memory setting or bios setting, could be...

ahh just seen "nub destroyed".. haha oh well :) seen that before, usually a hack if i remember correctly.

Got a new problem, game crashes while playing and even went blue screen sometimes. The system recovers and these horrendous errors keep popping back up. The cooling equipment is stable but it still comes back. All while playing Crysis.
The System says:
It recovered from a serious error, (MINIDUMP) and when worse (BLUESCREEN)

The errror report was here-says:
C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini101105-03.dmp
C:DOCUME~1\X6616\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER2tmp.dir00\sysdata.xml

After doing these things:
1. Intentionally Drop my rifle (j) , or weapon and pick it up again.
2. Loaded a checkpoint, for the third time
3. Kept the resolution at 1024x768 while playing
4. Played for more than an hour
5. And while playing, coming at me random. (I think it hates me)
