In my current game, I had one purpose: explore my world. I intentionally OP'd my character (Guns 100 ASAP) just so I can wander the Mojave and be proud I found places other people mention in their posts.
I discovered quite a bit! I found a crashed vertibird, a canyon, some abandoned shacks, and even found a Nighkin selling tumbleweeds as brahmin (LOL - that was fun).
So, to reward myself, I unlocked "Explorer" at my current level of 28 and about crapped my pants. I didn't find as much as I thought I had! Did you know there's a steel mill in the game? Of course you did, because you probably went inside it and looted it.
Then, I got the joke, the moment I went to the area. It's not so much as having to see the building, one has to practically be inside it to "discover" it. I can't tell you how many times I passed this building, both from the front and the back, but yet, I never "discovered" it.
Did you know those ants, just north of the Mojave Outpost, are in an area called the Ivanpah Race Track?
I really hope Fallout 4 puts (optional) icons on its compass like TES does, because I swear, I'd never find my own weapon if it wasn't marked on the compass the way these areas are "discovered".
Okay, so here's where you come in, and I want honest replies here.
How much of the game did you discover without 3rd party assistance?
How did you find these areas?
Are you still finding places with replays if you didn't discover them before? If so, what changed?
By my count, there are 32 undiscovered locations, and most reside in areas I did discover. I can understand those in outlying areas, away from civilization, but to see them right-dab center of all the stuff I did discover is a bit disappointing.
Well, time to go. Veronica, ED-E, and I are off to find these areas, since all three of us are blind, including the PER 10 ED-E.
