Exploration Issues - End Game

Post » Mon Feb 15, 2016 4:35 am

So I've come to the conclusion that I've pretty much won the game until new content or the ability to earn legendaries from exploration is patched into the game.

I was really just holding out to get more Legendaries, but with the 25 explorer cap and no legendaries from exploration in 1.2.1 the game is pretty much over, especially since lunchboxes only give you 500 credits half the time and the other half of the time it is usually a blue item.

I'm actually fine with the 25 explorer cap. It is annoying as hell to sell off 100 items from 25 explorers every 6 days (about 4 per day isn't too terrible, but 12 in one session takes 20 minutes).

But only getting legendaries from about 1 out of every 6 lunchboxes after previously getting them from exploration is just a terrible decision. Add them back and lower the exploration drop rate or massively increase the lunchbox legendary drop rate, but something different is justified than the broken way it is now.

I never took advantage of the zero time cheat for legendaries so my main vault only has a handful of legendary armors and weapons but everything else is pretty much maxed (150ish all 10 special dwellers, all dwellers have 14+ avg damage weapons, 25 people exploring, at least 2 people in every room even storage and barracks, etc.). I could easily be at 200 dwellers but instead I just delete all the goals that are for population growth and keep my population constant with 150 maxed dwellers. Why do I need more when I already have the max number of explorers and a ton of people just sitting in barracks and store rooms doing absolutely nothing.

Fallout shelter has been a pretty fun amusemant I could play for 10-15 mins a couple times a day, but when all you have left is to find legendaries it is overly frustrating when they only drop occasionally from lunchboxes and exploration is a complete waste of time (after all your dwellers have high damage blue weapons and blue armor).

I've finished as well. However i do have 200 dewellers, all at level 50 and all with maxed stats. I'm in the process of bringing the last out of the wasteland because I'm finished, and don't want to just leave them at the door.

There is no need to keep trying for legendaries any more because Bethesa's greed has made them so rare, i could buy a full version of new popular game that is coming out (with the money it would take to get one legendary from a purchased lunch box.)

I agree.

I don't really quit. I keep the vault dormant. There is a lot of other games waiting :)

Wow. I thought I was the only one who got tired of this game. It's good to know that others have the same frustration! I closed it up for the final time today, after opening 14 lunchboxes in a row and not getting a single legendary item. I went for 12 lunchboxes in a row getting caps, and the tedium of the objectives to get lunchboxes isn't worth caps, rusty BB guns and 50 food/water/power. I'll leave the vault in case they do something to make the game fun again, but what a letdown.

Yeah, I'm just kind of playing because it's there. With the absolutely [censored] lunchbox drops and the removal of legendaries from exploration, there is no end game. Once the vault is done growing and you have all of the rares, there's really nothing else to do.

Although... I do know where you can get the Android 1.1 installation files. I've got 1.1 running on my tablet and it does accept vault files from newer versions. The only down side being that new content that 1.1 doesn't have gets deleted, or in other words Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas costumes and pets just disappear from the vault. So when I hit end game I'll just take my vaults back to 1.1.
