Explorer 9 and BSF

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 5:51 am

I don't know if anyone is having trouble but ever since I installed Explorer 9 the BSF experiance is less enjoyable. When I click on a link, a new window pops up and the screen I was reading both go the new link. When I use spoiler tags, or Insert Link even though I am in the middle of writing or at the end, the text appears at the begining of the post hilighted. There is a few more annoyances which I can't rememeber at the time, load times I think are slower, the preview doesn't work sometimes other times it say "I don't have persmission to use that function" and other times works.

So am I the only one experiancing this, or is a few or everyone with IE 9 experiancing this? Is Bethesda software gurus working on this?

Since I haven't seen anyone post about this, I thought I would mention it.

Yes I know using other browsers don't have this problem and are suppose to be better than IE but I am old and don't like to change much. :D

This forum's ass backwards style was the reason I switched to Firefox. You could change the style to the IPBoard one in the menu at the bottom if you want.

Other than that, there are ways to make the forum more agreeable, but they don't really work well on IE.

Yeah, although I use Firefox for everything else, I installed Chrome just for the Forums 'cause I was getting choppy scrolling. I still haven't been able to try then with Firefox 4, since I'm still stuck using my phone for everything.

As far as what I would recommend: reinstall IE 9 or get another browser just for the Forums. I'm not really all that familiar with how IE functions since I've not used it in years. I hear IE 9 has really sped things up and whatnot, but I doubt it's as feature-rich as the other browsers out there.

EDIT: And honestly, not to be rude (really not trying to be rude) but since you've had repeated issues with IE, and I'm not really one to throw up my hands and say "switch browsers" immediately, but your reasoning behind staying with IE is kinda like saying "Hey, can anyone help me with my computer? Yeah, my capacitors are all blown,, my hard drive is clicking, and my memory's gone bad, but I really want it fixed because I don't want to get used to seeing a new tower under my desk."
