Exploring: Items not Gained

Post » Sat Feb 13, 2016 8:49 am

I've had two explorers return with items (one had two guns, one had an outfit), but after I hit "Collect" i still did not have the items available and now they are gone. Am i missing something I need to do to collect those items or is this a glitch?

sounds like a glitch, i had several items collected by exporers and they were moved to my available items just after i did what you did (click collect after they returned)

There are two things I can think of and one has been mentioned already. Dwellers will equip an Outfit or Weapon while adventuring. They will not upgrade an existing Outfot or Weapon if they find a better one. Also if you do tno thave room in your storage when your Adventurer gets back to the Vault the game will shows you that you don't have enough room. There will be a http://i.imgur.com/5bHVPk3.jpg and the item will be converted into caps. What I do is check the Dweller first and if there are red boxes I clean out the storage room or I equip the Dwellers with whatever I can until there is enough room.

you know, something hppened to me earlier today. i had an explorer out and i saw she found several outfits and 3 nice guns, all with 5 ,6 and 6-7 damage ratings.I tapped on the guns to see what they were. i recalled her and waited the 3 hours for her to come back.

i went to collect, and i tapped on the weapons to look at them again and confirm what she found and hit collect and...

*ka-ching* a task on my list "sell x amount of weapons or outfits" got completed. i was like...okay...

i go to equip the weapons, and they are gone!

i recalled another explore and hit collect and got the items.

i recalled another and when i went to collect, i tapped the items to see what they were again and hit collect and *ka-ching* the items got sold.

Tl:Dr

apparently, when an explorer comes back, and you see the items below on the collect screen. if you tap any of those items, it marks them to be sold. so, from now on, i don't look at what they brought back, i just hit collect and sort it out later.

Items that put you over the capacity of your storage might prevent you from collecting the items once your dweller returns. It also may sell them automatically. Each item over your storage capacity has a http://i.imgur.com/5bHVPk3.jpg. So feel free to look at your adventurer. However, manage your storage before you collect your adventurers items and let them back into the vault.

There is definitely some kind of issue here. My explorer came back with 4 outfits and 2 guns. I have 10 storage spots free for guns and 10 for outfits. When I hit collect none of the items are in my storage. I might of clicked on one before collecting so it might of been sold but not all of them. There was no red border on the items. Something is not right here.

It was a definite issue for me despite having open spaces for outfits and weapons. The only thing I can think of is that my internet connection was spotty when it wasn't working. When I went home at the end of the day, I was able to collect them just fine.

my storage was empty. it is currently at 0/55 weapons. the items disappeared because when i tapped on them before collecting, it toggled them to auto sell them. it is very subtle, and i didn't even realize what i did the first few times it happened. i only just recently happened to notice when i tapped on the gun to see what it was and then i went to collect, i saw the gun changed to caps.

although, i do believe you, i suspect it would just auto sell if storage is full. they should fix that. instead, it should let you go over capacity but then it won't allow you to equip or unequip items or send out new explorers until you clear up the space.

You can toggle the items to sell from the adventurer window by tapping it. If it's marked with a http://i.imgur.com/SS7524p.jpg then once you hit collect the items marked will be sold. The unmarked items go into your storage. To unmark it just tap it again and the Icon for the item the Adventurer found will appear.

We are all argeeing on the same thing. What you are explaining is happening. However, I'm just trying to clarify game behaviour and how you can control it. Obviously you didn't want to sell the items but now you know how to prevent that in the future. I updated my guide to explain it better for others so they don't encounter the same issue. You can find it under the Adventuring in the Wasteland section.

Yes I experienced the same issue. Storage is empty, The item does not display the Caps icon, but the item sells as soon as you press collect. So for everyone on this thread the best thing to do is to just collect the items without viewing or scrolling through when the dweller returns. Otherwise it will automatically sell your weapons/outfits, which svcks when you get a bunch of good stuff.

I think what everyone is saying is that, it is not showing the Caps icon. It's just selling them if you look through the items. There's no indication that they will sell until you actually press "collect"

i no longer touch anything when explorers come back. i just hit collect, and haven't lost an item. although, you do need to make sure you have space, earlier, i had 8 exploreres cme back with 15-20 items each and my 130 item storage filled up and i think i lost a few items, it might have sold the weaker things first which i guess is okay because i was mainly interested in the enhanced shotgun 6-8's they brought back.,.but i didn't actually see what got sold.

i take t slow now. i obnly collect from 1 guy at a time and i sort through it first, take what i want sell the rest, and then collect from the next one.

Just wanted to say that I have not had a dweller upgrade an outfit while in the wasteland, but I HAVE had a dweller upgrade his weapon from a laser gun to a flamethrower while he was running.
