Explosive Minigun

Post » Mon Nov 30, 2015 5:25 am

When I first heard of the explosive perk, I thought geez, that would be pretty OP on a minigun. Well after 130 hours of gameplay on survival one dropped from a legendary synth, and it's actually the first weapon I've seen with the explosive perk in the game. Holy crap is it powerful, it puts a fat man too shame. Coupled with me having the perk where my heavy weapons do double damage, nothing stands a chance. I feel so dirty using it. Most of the time on enemies with large hp pools it cripples all of their limbs before they die. I can't imagine any better weapon/perk combo. Has anyone else found any insanely OP weapons such as this? (without modding ofc)

That is crazy haha. I happened to find this effect on a hunting rifle which works great, didn't even consider what it could do on a minigun.

Explosive .50 cal. I would like that for the novelty lol, give it to MacReedy. Also, the minigun tends to kill your frames a bit, but it's worth.

Don't the exlosive effect add an fixed damage on each bullet.

The .50 does a lot of damage already so the explosion would not do much, on an minigun is should do many times more damage than normal and be serious op.

I bought an explosive, silenced .45 SMG with a drum magazine. That thing is awesome!

Got an explosive combat shotgun early on. So overpowered. The shotgun blast may be limited but the explosive effect has sniper rifle like distance and accuracy. One shot most ferals, raiders, creatures, synths, robots. On super mutants I aim at the legs and it almost always cripples them.

I find "spray and pray" a lot more useful, ammunition is easy to find and it fires when you pull the trigger, not 2 seconds later.

You haven't lived until you get an Explosive double barreled shotgun.

Or even better, an explosive laser.

Ya but a lot less weight, a lot faster reload and pull out time, a lot more accurate, and comes with a suppressor

I still like my Instigating Gauss Rifle more. Double damage for targets at full health and ridiculous stopping power (463 base dmg) takes care of everything. Did I mention you can even put a suppresor on it to reach ridiculously high sneak attack multipliers?

I actually got a 'Freezing Flamer' the other day. Looks crazy because enemies are turning blue and freezing as they're being torched. I enjoy using it even more than the Cryolator lol.

Yeah I found spray and pray and it is nuts OP. I feel bad using it sometimes. It wrecks humans and ghouls.

All I have is my lucky 10mm and Plasma Hunting Rifle.

Walking around wasteland looking for legendary encounters. Hear Dogmeat growl and he's killed a rad roach. Oh! It was legendary! "That was lucky".
