I need help regarding editing a Skyrim mesh with Blender.
I followed http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/15690/? this tutorial, until the Post Importing part. The only thing i did additionally, was also removing CompressedMeshData (or something like that) along with BSLightingShaderProperty, as the Blender console told me it didn't recognize what that was, and would not load until i removed that in NifSkope. Note also that i'm using slightly older version of Blender and Python, becasue the nif script plugin would not install with the newest version.
So i got the mesh into Blender, removed some parts of it (that's all i wanted to do) and then i got to a roadblock. The tutorial says i have to attach a material to the mesh in Blender, but it doesn't say how. I followed another tutorial, and from what i understand, all i have to do is make a bland material in Blender and assign it as UV. I did that and managed to get one nif file extracted, but when i loaded that in NifSkope, all i got is one object from my mesh with no textures (it's a big, multi-object mesh). So i figured i didn't have UV material on all my objects - i linked all the obects to the same UV material, but now when i try to export i get a message that some of them don't have a UV material and i can't export at all.
If anyone can tell me what am i doing wrong, or point me to another tutorial, that would be awesome! All i want to do is remove one wall from Solitude Castle (scastle.nif) mesh, so if anyone is willing to help me by doing it for me, please send me a PM, and i'll tell you exactly what needs to be done.
