So It's happened again, my current mod load order is unplayable, I seem to crash to the desktop every ten minutes, some scripts don't work and I've had enough. Drastic action must be taken...

My current train of thought involves starting a new game with a different character (Using the same race, class and name however) and using console commands to get back to the point I left off from

My question is this, Using some external programs such as Enchanted editor and testool, would it be possible to simply export my journal progress along to the new save? I'm not that far into the game with my current character, but still far enough to cause me a great deal of frustration at the prospect of starting again, So what do you think? Is this recommended or a very stupid idea that will only cause me grief in the long run?

The Journal is only part of it. You also have Reputation, both Global and Faction that needs to be taken into account. Then you have all the flags that are set by your actions that dictate not only how the quest you are doing is resolved but what future quests you may get based on how you handled things. Then there are the reward items and quest items that you may or may not want, but the game might need to know that you have.

In other words, it sounds simple, but in reality, you are just introducing more problems in the game.
