Extremely Confused..

Post » Sat Feb 12, 2011 5:06 pm

I've been looking forward to Brink for a good while now, but I'm having second thoughts about actually picking it up. It's been getting some pretty bad reviews; now, I usually don't let reviews sway my opinion, but as I see more gameplays and livestreams it just seems, frankly, like a bad game. I'm a little disappointed, honestly. I wanted a streamlined, team-based shooter and Brink just looks clunky and unpolished, with all the graphical and network issues on Xbox. But not just that, just the game experience in general is starting to give me the impression that I will regret shelling out my 60 bucks.

What do you guys think? Should I give Brink a chance?

The graphical issues and networking problems on the 360 currently are quite frustrating. I'd avoid the game, personally, until the issues are resolved.

Yeah, true. Or at least see how much commitment to changes there are.
Sadly I pre-ordered this damn thing around March last year.
So I am getting my pre-order come hell or high water!

I felt exactly like you, but go out and get it. I'm sure if you get it now in about a month the game will be almost 100% fixed.

No men i don't regret it a bit,i've done my homework (as much as possible) and this is exactly the philosophy i want an FPS to have.As i said i over anolysed everything http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1188381-on-the-brink-of-success/ so i won't repeat :)

I'm just giving the solution that seems obvious to me as safe.If u care what others say then just w8 and rent the game.

I picked it up yesterday when I got off work. A couple of my friends bought it, as well. We played for a good 5 hours last night and had a TON of fun! We didn't have any problems with starting up the matches and the opposing A.I. seemed quite challenging, although our team A.I. could be a bit better. We did suffer a few lag spikes but it was nothing game breaking and it only happened a few times.

I say pick it up. It's a great game, especially when playing with friends.

Honestly, (and this isn't just high hopes, I just know me) I have a feeling I'll enjoy the game. So I'm not that worried and still excited for it.

I'll agree with Eresis. If you that worried just wait and rent. But it comes down to your own opinion in the end.
A lot of people reviewed it bad, I'd give it a 10/10
Heck I've played Freeplay with the worst lag ever and had a guy in the lobby say it didn't bother him at all and he'd continue to play through and that if I didn't like it to man up. haha

So really it all depends on you because in the end nobody can tell you how much you'll like a game.
