Eye Color

Post » Mon Sep 06, 2010 12:52 pm

Poll says it all. In Oblivion the eye color pre sets annoyed me, there wasn't a lot to choose from. So with more customization in Skyrim I hope they let you get the right color you want instead of a pre-set.

Sure, but why would you want a Bosmer with orange eyes or an Imperial with purple, for example?

Pre-set would be fine for me, as long as there are a lot more options available.

This is true.

I mean, think about it. Dunmer with random eye colors varying away from what's believable?

I can imagine High Elves with crazy eye colors, maybe Bretons too.

It's pretty easy to see why they chose to have certain eye colors.

If they have tons of pre-sets, then there's no real reason to complain.

So that we can choose exactly what shade of red our Dunmer's eyes are, right? :P

Well I am not talking about crazy eye colors, But it would be nice to give people the freedom to do so. Ether that just give the pre set more options like stated above. and I am talking about Races that allow you to change the eye color, But still keep it so you can't change it for the Dark Elf, Orc etc etc

I could accept a palette as more customization is always good. But if they are going for the fixed set of eyes I'm hoping that we'll have a lot more to choose from instead of the basic blue-brown-green. And we'd definitely need to have the red eyes for the Dunmer, yellow for Orcs and the black ones for the Bosmer as well.

I just want khajiit's to have more options besides mustard yellow. Is it possible for them to have brown or amber colored eyes?

This. The more choice the better though, so a colour-pallet would suit me just fine.
It's nothing i'm majorly bothered about, but I would like more choice than the three colours we got in Oblivion.

Yes, at the very least they could offer the options viable for real humans: hazel, honey, brown, grey, green, true blue, blue-brown. :( Also, Westly did it with a few of his heads, and I have to say Altmer with pale blue eyes are epic. :D

Exactly, IMO Kahjiit's would look cool with bright blue eyes instead of the plain yellow.

And don't forget blind. With the possibility of scars being in the game I think it would be awesome to have a vertical scar on your face across one eye and the eye itself being white/blind :)

Depends on how they display it in the character generator. I can't remember which game it was I played recently maybe dragon age, but I had a hard time telling what color his eye was on their bar scale, the face was too far away. If I get a nice close up so I can see the eye color, any system works as long as there are enough choices and race/species appropriate.

The blinded option, if skin tones allowed for it the "pink" (albino) option, and finally: *drumroll* http://dermimages.med.jhmi.edu/images/heterochromia_1_010223.jpg FTW! :D

Actually, I'd have to say it needs to be a two-dimensional idea: It needs to have selection of pre-set styles or colors, and then allow custom colors using the RGB sliders so you can be pleased if you want to immerse yourself or if you just want to go hurt something.

I'd like a lot of pre-set options, but a color pallet sounds good, maybe mix colors in them so you can get hazel-ish eyes.

Eye Color palet is OK but I think it's kinda weird to see someone with Bright Green eyes or Pink eyes.

Then I'd say it needs three levels:

1: The "non-choice presets" like Dunmer eyes, Orc eyes, Argonian eyes, Khajiit eyes, (if they go back with the old style) Bosmer eyes

2: Multiple color presets for those races that even have a chance of multiple eye colors

3: Then maybe adjustable palettes, if they don't mind the half of the races covered by option 2 having flourescent day-glo green eyes and such.

Of course with noticing that only half the races (or so) have color options anyway (Unless, of course, they change something up which has happened before), I begin to wonder why they'd bother with anything other than more preset color options.

Being red/green colourblind, I'd rather see presets. For the simple fact if I tried to make blue eyes they'd come out purple. Or something equally wrong.

sounds good. Palette or more pre-sets, either really. Found in OB that blue and green looked weird anyway, so it was any colour you like as long as its brown.
