Ezio's bomb crafting

Post » Sun May 02, 2010 2:49 pm

acording to the new GI mag i got that covered the new Assassins Creed: Revelations, Ezio will be able to craft around 300 different bomb variants. Each with its own effect and strength. i dont see skyrim going that in depth with it but i would like to see some bomb crafting. maybe a couple of basic types with a few lvls of strength each.

explosive, flash, smoke, and poison each could have 5 lvls of strength that would be 20 bombs. i think that could be doable and would be possible through the alchemy crafting menu.

Thoughts?
And i dont mean gun powder!!!!

i mean with the mixture of materials in alchemy to create certain effects!!!

You can shoot a fireball from your hand that explodes.

Have cannons/gun powder even been invented in the Elder Scrolls universe? Perhaps a lore buff could answer your question better. I'm not necessarily opposed to the idea, could be kind of fun to have exploding throwing weapons (like ancient grenades and stuff).

This is Elder Scrolls, not Assassin's Creed. Please refrain from confusing the two.
Plus, no one would ever take the time to create bombs in the Elder Scrolls universe. For [censored]'s sakes, you can ejaculate explosions from your fingertips.

There were Dwemer Satchel charges in Tribunal.
Although admittedly they did feel like cheap plot devices, and they probably didn't give them a lot of thought.

the way it describes it though it sounds as though some can be set to be like grenades or traps. if you have 15 diferent types of grenades and then the same effects for traps and then 10 lvls of each that would be 300.

15*10=150...? I think your math is off.

as in 15 grenades and 15 traps 15 + 15 = 30 * 10 = 300

300 if you count in you will be able to use them as either grenades or traps.

The ability to create alchemical potions that exploded or had other hazardous effects when thrown would actually be quite awesome.

As much as I like Assassin's Creed, no. This is Skyrim.
However, some kind of explosives (aside from spells) probably made with alchemy wouldn't hurt.

exactly!!!!!

i never said anything about gun powder or any other modern tech. i just want the ability to make something through alchemy that has an explosion/smoke/blinding/poisoning effect to them. they could be placed in a bottle and when broken cause the effect. i believe Hex Off was working on something like this with his Unnecessary Violence 2 mod.

I figured as much.

I just didn't know whther it was the radius, damage, or something else entirely that is effected.

Lot of different variables and type to choose. And also not sure what would be the constant besides them all exploding.

I'm guessing 3 types set - mines, possibly detonation, and timed explosives.

Then pick fragments, nonlethal(flash/irritants), smoke, fire, concussion, etc

Then damage/radius or something to do with the size.

Something like that?

Gunpowder ruined Fable series for me ... I do NOT want it in Skyrim. Make a mod if you want to have it.

Well perhaps we can create throwing potions with alchemy since it now a Stealth skill, there was mentioned before thats Skyrim have flammable oils in such cases throwing bombs can be done

You can shoot a fireball from your hand that explodes.

Well you are thief thats doesn't spend half of his life on studding arcane arts, but live at streets and work on Thieves Guild, there is two way to achieve powerful magic enchanted items and scrolls, but as Stealth skill Alchemy must be fortified more then just with poisons, flashbang grenades thats paralyze and stagger, sleeping gas thats drain fatigue and put into sleep, equipment damaging acid what does damage overtime, smoke bombs thats negate light in area, flammable oils thats increase fire damage and add damage overtime, there can be many options to make alchemy equal to magic
Besides magic can be silenced, reflected, dispelled, until spell is not powerful enough but well placed flaming oil flask can be only resisted

As well throwing mechanic isn't hard to be done I think marksmans must not relay only on bows since mages not relay only on fire balls and warriors on swords they have more options, I think marksman roleplay will be much less generic then it was in Oblivion.

And witcher's potion crafting would be much more suitable for this game. but come on alchemy is fine they made improvements to it i think.
