Fable III

So for those who have it how is it?

It's meh. They finally dropped the pretense of it being an RPG and it's pretty much pure action-adventure now. Straightforward morality (by endgame you'll either be a ruthless, evil tyrant or a benevolant, saintly figurehead), button-mashing combat, insipid and shallow NPC interaction... it's an okay game, but man, Peter Molyneux has to drop the "revolutionary act". He makes simplistic and streamlined and nothing more.

Its pretty good.Story seems a little better than 2's and the the sanctuary system is actually nice.Gameplay though is meh.Its the same grind Fable 2 was.

No. They're replaced with things called "guild seals" that are used to unlock abilities linearily. You don't level up certain skills, per say, like in previous Fables.

Yea it has become much more of a action adventure game with minimal RPG elements.

Glad I got NV instead of Fable 3. I had my doubts after we got guns in Fable 2...

I must say that I am very pleasantly surprised with Fable III. I find it to be several times better than Fable II, and while not having the brother's-grim fairy tale style of Fable I, I think it's comparatively good. Granted, I haven't even become king yet, but I've loved what I've played so far.

Agreed 100%.I also like how there are many decisions through out the game and the promises you can make to the people when you come into power.

I hear it's nearly as glitchy as New Vegas. Christ, Gamespot gave both New Vegas and Fable III a 7.5 score. The predecessors were in the 9's! Are there any good games worth buying coming soon? Even Medal of Honor turned out as crap.

It seems that you can't read into reviews much anymore. I don't know why NV got a 7.5, in my opinion it has more content than F03 with a better storyline. MoH's campaign was very good in my opinion also. I'd assume that Fable III isn't as bad as they make it out to be either.

Fable III is so so...
Adam Sessler 4 out 5 Xplay

Another Fable that could of been but comes up short "shock" :flamethrower:

Just something about the 3rd game never sat well with me good thing I held off from buying it

It svcks though I was one those gullible players back in the day that had such high hopes for the series playing part I going this awesome then BOOM!
it's over at 10 hours tops small liner worlds boring questing lack of story & narrative etc.

If they can't get it done by the 3rd game then this series is a lost cause :(

P.S. Save your money and buy some of that Undead Night for only $10 ^__^

The first one svcked so badly that I never bothered with the second. I'm not surprised that the third installment is bad.

Ya' know? Just because you do not like Fable 3 does not mean other people will...

Making a thread about not buying a game is sort of pointless. Neverless there is already a Fable 3 thread..

It's funny how the title actually makes him sound surprised that it was bad.

Sorry!

EA have the rights for Dungeon Keeper, Molyneux works for Microsoft.

That's what she said.

Anyway, Im glad to hear it isn't as bad as I perceived, and Im still definitely buying it. But I hear a lot of disappointment. Luckily for me, I didn't read too much into the game, so everything will be relatively fresh, and I won't be too let down.

according to the reviews the mainquest is a bit too short, but if you play it with all the sidequests and whatnot then the length extends a lot. They say that Lionhead put an incredible amount of effort into the sidequests so to only do the mainquest is kind of an insult to the development team. From what I guage there I think the mainquest is probably ten hours with the sidequests added it probably extends to 25-30, maybe forty, not sure haven't played it yet
