Fable'ish things I'd like to see

Tats would be cool, but I'd prefer they were more like Fable 1. Fable 2 had terrible options.

I dont get how tattoos and dyes are "RPG choices.

Well to me and I'm sure a whole bunch of other gamers RPG's are all about the customization of your character and the choices you make. Say you get a certain tattoo or where a certain color or armor in the game and you go to a village and and that tattoo and or color of armor are loved or hated by the towns people then they could either hate or like you more opening up or closing quests.

The one thing that I hated about Oblivion besides when you were caught stealing or killing some one your actions had really no consequences... For instance if you joined the Dark brother hood and finished off all those quests ( In my opinion making you pretty much an evil person ) you could go and be in any other guild and nothing you did for the Dark Brotherhood mattered.

Where as in at least Fable 2, I have never played any of the others, if you did something bad or good your reputation would precede you and people would either like, love or hate you and where TES could take that to the next level like they've already said if you kill a shop keeper or some thing then the next family member who takes owner ship of the store might not give you quests because you killed they're family member...Now imagine If you joined the Thieves Guild and your reputation preceded you and you were not aloud to join the Fighters or Mages guild...although that may svck it would make for more realism.

The ONLY thing I'd like in TES from Fable, is something similar to Fable 3's weapon morphing system... only implemented A LOT differently (it was nice to have your own weapons, but the system that morphed them was totally [censored])
And then again, maybe a single weapon in the game or something, not all of them

oh and maybe an option to wear an opened-up coat, instead of always the same plain shirt...

but still, TES is TES, and I'd like it to stay away from trying to copy Fable... which went downhill anyways

Gotta agree with the majority. I've watched the Fable series devlolve into [censored]e. Yes it had some ok aspects in game 1 but forget the rest. Molyneux needs to go back to making sims.... or keep making action sims as he is doing well by it, but please don't slap an RPG genre to it. We have enough developers putting out crap trying to cater to the crowd that is looking for more depth in a game. Most of those folks now look to Bethesda as they are the only guys able to make a great game with lots of depth.

to answer the 1 through 5. - HELL NO! to all but the tats.

and to add to that - IF the side jobs that are in Skyrim are the equivalent of Fable 2...... We are witnessing the beginning of the end of a great developer.

Fable'ish things id like to see in skyrim is Tattoos and Quests that keeps on goin like the assassin society, bounty hunter, civilian displacement and slave rescue
(If you dont know what those are. They are simple randomly generater short Quests that required you to do something small like assasinate someone meh :P

i forgot how much this community hated fable.

of the 5 already listed probably not, apart from tattoo's although those should be permament.

six is pushing things too far for the elder scrools to get a rating.

buying houses and renting might be a fun diversion. especially if the AI occasionally decides it's not going to pay the rent and starts squatting your house. something you only find out if you try to collect the rent

what I'D like to see is fable 2's magic system in some regards. we know we have a new system anyway and it's totally different to past versions. the 5 tiered charge system was an excellent casting system once you learnt some decent spells. and having spells act as both AoE and targeted based on whether you targeted someone was inspired. i couldn'ty tell you how i'd like to see it implemented in skyrim but charging UPTO the powerful spells instead of releasing tonnes of power instantly is a far better idea IMO. should an almost identical system be used you coulkd have shield->cold->lightning->fire->heal. so a tap on magic would shield, a slight hold would cast ice at target or on touch so on and so forth. reduciong the planned clunkiness of not being able to defend as a magic user.

I have played both Fable 2 and Oblivion...By far Oblivion was the better game however there were a couple of things in Fable 2 that I loved and even though most of them are mundane tasks they made me keep going back to play that game instead of Oblivion. So here they are and here's hoping they make they're way into Skyrim in some way or another...

1st - Being able to buy stores and houses / setting sale prices and rent
2nd - tattoo's!!!!! and die's to color your clothing and armor
3rd - Having a family
4th - THE SWINGER achievement / trophy!!!
5th - starting out in the game as a child building the character up certain point then time jumps to present day...in prison like usual...

changing the subject here real quick what would be kind of cool and funny at the same time would be like what they did in fallout 3...the part where you went into Hubris comic book building and you were able to play Grognak on the computer...well how about sometime in the game a Mage puts a spell on you or something and you go back and play one of the past TES games the older the better!
Any other ideas from other RPG's you'd like to see in Skyrim?

I absolutely loathe the whole pretend simulation family aspect of the Fable games.

If Bethesda was to ever place something like that in a Elder Scrolls game I think I would stop supporting them.

Real life is for romantic relationships my friends, not video games.. they aren't even real, it's weird, sick and very disturbing.

But yeah altogether, the Fable series has to be one of the worst series in video gaming history.

Yes, this is a good theme to set for the younger players: No matter what you do as a child, you're going to end up in prison when you get older. Sorry son, that's just the way the world works.

No to all of them except 2. Here are my reasons.

1. Money is always scarce in the beginning and plentiful in the end. What we need is a money sink, not something to give us more useless money.

2. It might be cool, but it's no big deal if theyr aren't there (I wouldn't use them though. A good assassin has as few distinguishing features as possible).

3. That's just busy work. Unless they can come up with a really good script for any child or mate you may have, just no. (Besides, my dark brothers and sisters are all the family I need).

4. That one was just pointless.

5. I prefer to start in prison or wherever it is they have decided as an advlt. That way, I can choose my character's backstory as I please.

So no, I liked the Fable series well enough on their own, but keep them out of my Elder scrolls.

As this game is has a 95% chance that it is going to be rated "Mature" there should not be kids playing it. And yes that is often how this world works. It can be very unjust for those that cannot or will not defend themselves
