Fable 3 in a week

Post » Thu Aug 19, 2010 3:04 am

Been looking forward to this game ever since I had fable 2 for the 360 (don't have a 360 any more)
Anyone else looking forward to this game? Lionhead said that they are adding tons of new features, free DLC, an overhauled graphics engine and completely redone controls so they feel right for the PC users.

Sounds like fun, right?
You gonna get it?

I'll probably get it in a few months time on the cheap, don't really fancy playing full price for it from what I've heard. I don't have a 360 so I haven't played the 2nd one, but I enjoyed the first so I imagine I'll pick it up at some point.

Honestly, I enjoyed it much more than Fable 2. Still not as good as the Lost Chapters, but it actually surprised me.

I would buy it for 20-30 dollars not worth the full price to me.
I bet its enjoyable, but the Fables have gone downhill for me. :(

I don't mind the guns, it just the simplified spells and well everything.

Still I like that fairy tale theme they go with. And the way they tell stories.

Nah, I've already played it on 360. In fact, I've technically played it twice on 360. The first time I got about 5m before the final bit, got knocked into an otherwise unreachable area and had to entirely restart the game.

If it ever goes cheap on Steam I might get it though.

How was the game length? Fable 2 was really short, so I was leery of getting 3.

Bought it on 360 and finished it pretty damn quickly. Haven't gone back to it sadly.

I believe I hit the 15 - 20 hour mark. Not too shabby, though far from many other roleplaying games.

Fable 3 did not disappoint me or blow me away. I would class it as "meh".

Then I will probably wait till it comes down a lot in price. I can't stand paying full price for short games. The last one I did that with was Force Unleashed 2. Never again.

You consider 15-20 hours short? Man, you must not play many games then.

Never went near those. Played a little of the first one at my friends house. It seemed rather bleh to me. Definitely pick up F3 when the price drops though. They fixed a whole lot of what I didn't like about the second. I only rented it myself though. Picking it up when it goes for cheap also.

Well, no I don't. But the ones I have are pretty long, or I wait until they are either down in price or used. But I will replay games over and over. And 15-20 hours, that's not long at all. Even with work, that's only a couple of days of playing. And I don't rush through games, either.

When it's at ~25€, unless the PC version and especially hardcoe mode is such a big improvement that it warrants it. Geralt is getting most of my attention this month.

TFU took everything that is wrong with the game business these days and made a game out of it. And then TFU2 took that and made it crappier. That is quite an astonishing task.

You have confused me. I have absolutely no idea what that picture has to do with anything...

But, um, I... I... um, I got Fable 3 for Christmas.

Eh, it was decent. Fable 3 felt like what Fable 2 should've been. I never got the online function to work though...

And it seems like the OP really enjoyed Fable 2 so I'm guessing h/she will also enjoy Fable 3 so more power to him/her.

Sorry, I was thinking of this crappy movie reviewer on Attack of the Show on G4TV. Usually someone asks: "Is it a rent or a buy?"

Indeed it is.

I enjoyed the gameplay, well in FU1 at least. The story......Its not canon in my book.

FU3 - 2 hours long and Vader somehow escapes and Boba Fett hunts you down or something........ehhh, they just slap starwars on it and people will buy it. How it has worked for years.

Peter Molyneux - This man could make taking a crap sound good and make you want to buy it.

See, that's the problem even with the (I'd say adequately done) gameplay - it's just God of War with a Jedi sticker slapped on it. I found the story infuriatingly badly executed. The less I say the better.

Pretty much, but I mostly enjoyed force grip.

I bought it and beat it the same day. I didn't really care for it.

One thing that really bugged me was that you couldn't die. All you did was get "knocked out" for about 3 seconds and lose any experience points you had floating around at the time.

And that isn't really any punishment at all for losing, now is it?
