Well I stole the soul gems from where he always is and unseen, then the next time I come to dragons reach the hired thugs are waiting for me "this'll teach you to take what isn't yours!" anyway everybody jumps in and helps me including farengar!! And when they are dead the note said he sent them after me! He helped me kill them! :S

Oh and also I don't know why people kept saying he was essential because I chopped him up good and he didn't get back up!
