Faction and Reason?

People seem to be making a big deal about refugee rations, but the founders are also rationed (although the conflict implies that the founders are given more than the refugees). Proof of this is in a quote from the game's official web page. "Most Security personnel have volunteered because they're convinced that for the Ark to survive it must have peaceful order and conserve its remaining resources. And the extra water ration comes in useful too."

Also, its impossible for there to be no dry land. As an argument against Noah's Ark being literal, someone did the math and found that even if all of the ice and slow in the world was melted, and all of the water in the atmosphere was condensed into liquid, it wouldn't even be close to a worldwide flood. Shores would be screwed, but they could flee inland. The real problem would be on islands, which i imagine is why there are a lot of islanders seen within the resistance, Jamaicans and such.

So finding land would be a reasonable thing to do, but it brings up a question, is the Ark actually able to propel itself?

The Founders are not rationed. The Security are.

Appearing to have luxury seldom has anything to do with food or water, obviously it means that no one is starving, but when I think of "luxury" I'm thinking more along the lines of surroundings and comfort.

Luxury is all down to the point of view. Today we have pretty luxurious lifestyles compared with humans one hundred years ago. The poorest American has a luxurious lifestyle compared with the Ethiopian (fact: in America, poverty is directly related to weight/Ethiopia has an indirect relationship).

If I can I will try both, if it's an easy switch or if u get 2 characters 1 for each.

I like to choose the weaker factions because it's more fun that way :P frustrating sometimes but pretty fun most time!

Though only 2 factions prob be pretty even.

You have 16 characters, but each character has a different look for resistance and security (Basically you have 16 characters with 32 looks)

You determine certain points in advance (body size, voice pack, some other things as well), after that you can customize each of those 16 characters with 2 outfits: 1 for security, 1 for resistance. Both looks have the same abilites and characteristics, only the looks differ.

In addition, you can transfer over xp from existing characters to new ones, so that you don't have to start from scratch. It's a possibility, it's not imperative.

You have 16 character slots.

You will be able to customize the look of each character for both sides, think of it as two different persona.

Each character will be stuck with the bodytype and tattoo you choose. I'm not sure if you will have one tattoo for both sides, or a different tattoo for resistance and security.

The way you level up is the same on either side, if you put all of your skill points into soldier skills with that character, it will be the same with either faction. But you are never restricted to using one class with any character, switching class mid-game is part of the strategy.

Edit: Looks like you beat me to it, Dys

First off, it's know not no and second off, wheres your proof?

OK back on subject, I vote Security because I agree with their mission to maintain peace and order.

On the subject of socialism. It all sounds good on paper and when you apply it to other people, but now apply it to yourself. Lets say you spent a ton of money to get a master's, when through a year long internship to get the job you set your sights on and at the end of the day your making as much as the elementary school dropout sign twirler out front. Yeah I bet you REALLY like socialism now.

Well, yes. That is the main downside of Socialism. Except you feel like you accomplished something, while the whiny [censored] outside is thinking to himself - "[censored] I don't do anything useful I stand outside all day and go home to my parents and cry about how I dropped out of elementary school WAAAAAH." That's why Democracy is better - You get out of College, get your dream job, and get thousands of dollars a week, while the stupid idiot outside is thinking to himself the same thing as before, but with the added on weight of "I get $9 an hour, this guy is walking out with a paycheck of friggin' $5,000 a day! WAAAAAH."
So yeah.

Well he should've thought about that before he had 3 6 hour long arguements with his teacher on why 2+2=4 is a conspiracy foreshadowing doomsday that the government has been keeping a secret.

Resistance all the way. Aside from liking underdogs, I dig the whole "fighting for equality" theme that seems to resonate through the Resistance. They're the proletariat in this society, and they've had enough of the bourgeoisie's crap. They want their share, and they want it now! I dig it.

I personally wouldn't find it very strange if the two factions ended up being about equal in popularity.

And yes, in an economy filled with education and luxury, extreme socialism is not attractive to people (at least not to those that HAVE the education and luxury). In a situation where everyone is already working their asses off and struggling to survive anyway, its quite effective. This applies to small agricultural towns in the past, and The Ark after the flood.

Resistance!

Well, security sure looks better and has everything, but being on the bad side fighting back with anything I can get just seems too awesome to ignore.
