Faction armors issue (some questions)

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 5:56 pm

Hi

I have few questions about faction armors, since I will get the NCR Ranger Combat Armor soon:

1. Does is still have a faction bug in v1.3 with Honest Hearts? The bug would reset your reputation with the faction every time you gain some. Very annoying.

2. Does it still make you neutral with a faction when you have a higher reputation with them in a non-faction armor? That was pretty stupid tbh. You couldn't show your loyalty to the faction by wearing their armor because of this.

3. Does it affect how people react to you in any other way than making enemy faction neutral (since it can serve as disguise)? For example - if I wear NCR armor would civilians comment on this by calling me an NCR grunt or something? Does it affect dialogue (not only comments)?

4. So basically does it serve only as disguise against enemy factions or is it a legit role-playing tool which affects the game (in more ways than fooling enemies that you're one of them)?

5. Do you recommend wearing faction armor? Are there any illogical cons to it because of bad game mechanics?

Faction armour should definately not be worn all the time if you want to take a tactical approach. If you are dedicated to being a true veteran to the Legion and you wear NCR armour, that can be full of pros and cons. The first con is that you will always be mistaken for an NCR soldier, even though you're vilified with them. The pros are that you can easily get into NCR bases with their armour, and even

use the monorail in Camp McCarran with it.

But for standard gameplay, I would reccomend not even using faction armour that much. It sort've unbalances yourself with certain factions sometimes, and can lead to some frustrating things.

You guys told me nothing I didn't know. I doubt you even read my questions.

Can someone here answer my questions instead of stating the obvious? I'd be grateful.

1.What platform are you on?
2.Its designed this way. Its a disguse, they dont know its you.
3.If you wear ranger combat armor,NCR troopers will comment saying you dont look like any ranger they have seen.
4.As said, hostile will attack you in an enemys disguse regardless of your reputaiton with them.
5.Thats just a matter of preference.

I often wear Brotherhood T-51b throughout an entire game just to say "F.U." to the NCR and Legion. They attack me on site.

When I want to buy ammo, I put on the NCR engineer jumpsuit, buy stuff from the Hoover Dam armory master, then I go back to my BoS T-51b.

Looks like faction armors are still just a disguise to infiltrate enemy bases, nothing more.
