M'aiq is wondering... Who do you think would win?

  1. The Blades. They are much more specialized in combat than the Bards (with the exception of Jorn).
  2. The Companions, because werewolves. Werewolves? Where? Wolves? Men that are wolves? Many wolves. Everywhere. Many men. That is enough for M'aiq.
  3. The Thieves Guild, because of Nocturnal ( :hubbahubba: ), and the Nightingales.
  4. The Dawnguard. Gunmar trains an army of Fluffies.
  5. The Empire, because they are more powerful than the Stormcloaks
  6. Team M'aiq! M'aiq has cookies on his side. :cookie: And of course... M'aiq has skooma and sweetrolls.

1- Is a joke. Blades obviously.

2- Bit difficult. But the College has some of the best mages in Skyrim.

3- Dark Brotherhood.

4- I'm going with the Dawnguard out of preference.

5- Empire.

6- I'll pick M'aiq since I have cats.

1. Bards College, Can Delphine train any Skill from 99 to 100, can a Master Trainer even do this?

2. College of Winterhold, Magic is the True Power in Nirn.

3. Dark Brotherhood.

4. Dawngaurd, Vohlikar are betrayed by One of Thier Own!

5. Stormcloaks, because My characters dislike the Empire.

6. The stench from neck grime buried in the folds of Hagrids Neck are a Biological Weapon by RL standards and I remember disgusting admissions by Posters :yuck: Cats prefer biting the neck of prey, and M'aiq is too used to Sweet Rolls, Fishy Sticks covered in Fishy Stick Sauce, and Skooma :D

EDITed because My OP was too mean spirited

1. Blades. No question.

2. College of Winterhold. A well-placed fireball can kill a warrior before you're in any danger of being hit by melee weapons.

3. Dark Brotherhood. Thugs or murderers? The latter is the deadlier.

4. The Dawnguard. It'd be close, but I have a feeling they'd end up on top.

5. The Empire. The Stormcloaks are struggling to kick out Skyrim's local garrison plus it's new recruits. They'd have no chance of defeating the entire Empire.

6. Hagrid, of course.

  1. The Blades 'now'? Bards College - Esbern is pretty nifty in a fight, but so's Tsalgar, and I reckon at least some of the others probably have a bit of fighting skill, and there's just a lot more of them.
  2. The Companions, because a/ they're werewolves and b/(I think? Even if it's only that one fight near the start of the game without mods, it's certainly implied to be the case even if not actually in-game) they actually get out and do fighting sometimes rather than staying in a building atop a rock sulking because their colleagues don't appreciate them and so on.
  3. The Thieves Guild, because they've got Vekel the Man. THE MAN.
  4. The Dawnguard. Harkon's a prat.
  5. The Empire, because they've got the numbers, and the trained soldiers. Either way it's probably a bit of a pyrrhic victory, though, as the whole thing has left Skyrim and the Empire weaker and more easily controlled by the Dominion. Slow handclap, guys.
  6. Not answering this.

Isn't that mod suppose to be extremely buggy and game breaking?

It was the first couple of editions, but since he filled in the blanks with his own content it's not that bad.

From what I've read about it. Yes it is supposed to be extremely buggy.
But I have the mod and the only bug I've had is 1 hostile Stormcloak Giant just before a battle started.

That Empire vs. Stormcloak troops thing is actually an interesting question. It's essentially the same as considering what would've happened had the Germanic tribes of Arminius had equal training to the Romans (many Stormcloaks are ex-Legion; many Legion are fresh), and with that in mind I'm going to have to hand the Stormcloaks the advantage. Penitus is right that they could never take on the whole Empire with their current numbers, but they shaved off a sixth of it within weeks of first declaring their rebellion - without player involvement - so they're clearly nowhere near incompetent.

Well-armoured shock troops versus heavily-armoured rank-and-file, of equal training, is a question for the ages.

I think the whole "many stormcloaks are ex-Legion" is going a bit too far, I imagine more are just inexperienced soldiers that left their homes for a cause rather then a organization of trained ex-legionaries.

We know most are ex-Legion from the named characters, and Galmar's response to Ulfric's speech. They also have raw recruits, but so to does the Legion. In fact the bulk of the Legion's men are recently 'recruited locally.'

1. Bards College - They train people to wander the world and entertain and reinforce the morale of Skyrim. The blades are just two people who hide in basemants or get drunk at the Bannered Mare when dragons show up, and [censored] at the person who gave them a home to kill their mentor and friend and are all around idiots. While the bards college doesn't seem to have any strong points, people underestimate the incompetence of the blades. Any town drunk is better than the Blades.

2. This is difficult. On one hand, the college has J'zargo, and that's pretty hard to beat. On the other hand, the college is also full of elves, while the Companions have Wuuthrad. I'd say Companions, because even with the almighty J'zargo, the rest of the college svcks against the magic-resistant warriors.

3. This is difficult as well. On one hand, the Dark Brotherhood is an infinitely better organization. However, the Thieves Guild would probably win through the power of MarySue.

4. Dawnguard. Eat explosive bolts, bloodsvckers!

5. Stormpire.

6. Hagrid. As much as I love Khajiit, M'aiq is a nuisance and drug dealer. STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM!

1. Bards. There's only 2 Blades.

2. Companions if the 5 werewolves transform, depending on when in the story lines the battle takes place.

3. Thieves Guild's got more manpower, from what I've seen.

4. Dawnguard maybe, they were pretty weak at the beginning though.

5. Stormcloaks, their patrols seem to fare better than the Legion patrols.

6. Ma'iq, I guess. He's survived every random encounter I've seen him in.

The Bard's College is pretty badass, sending you into a long-forgotten ruin to recover some ancient verse. Like a literary Indiana Jones.
