Faction conflict issues?

Post » Tue Apr 01, 2014 11:35 pm

Hi all - are there any major storyline repercussions with joining any given faction? e.g. I've started the Companions quest and now regular guards comment that I've been hanging around with the Companions and it's not a good idea. In Fallout Vegas you were treated VERY differently by other factions if you joined the legion, for example. And can you join multiple factions?

Thanks!!

No repercussions, you can join every guild and be the leader of every guild... which is bloody stupid.

Other than the Stormcloaks and Imperials, they are mutually exclusive.

As for the Faction conflicts, you need to RP those and apply these restrictions to your character yourself. At least you get to pick and choose the conflicts this way.

(Moderator = cat herder is awesome!)

So as for joining one of the 2 main factions, will I be shunned/attacked by one I join the other? Or just determine which eventually ends up as Jarl?

If you're a TG member and join the Dark Brotherhood, one of the TG members will comment on it. The Thieves Guild and the Brotherhood have a little understanding. You could say they're friendly towards another.

Thanks, Vaen! Yeah it seems the devs left it REALLY open-ended that way, which I suppose is more fun for more people, rather than aiming toward "purists" and limiting choices. There are good and bad points to doing either way.

I think that each time you enter a Jarl's palace / long house you should be presented by the steward by all of your titles.

"Jarl Balgruuf, I present Frosco Toppings. Dragonborn, Arch Mage of the College of Winterhold, Harbinger of the Companions, Listener of the Dark Brotherhood etc. etc."

That would be awesome. However, I'd expect my character to burst into a song-and-dance number about how great and accomplished she is and why she's here after all her titles are listed afterward.
