A faction helping the dragons

Post » Sun Jul 31, 2011 8:33 pm

Im not sure about it but I was thinking that there must be a faction that is maybe "summoning" the dragons. What lead me to believe this, is that usually in a campaign your fighting against a specific enemy. Now at first I thought the main quest would probally be dragon slaying. But then I remembered you fight dragons randomly, which would become repetitive if that was also the main quest. So what do you think? Do you agree with me, or do you think the main enemies in the main quest will be mostly dragons? Maybe there will be smaller less "boss" like dragons. Sorry if there is already information about this :\

I think the antagonists are dragons because we've been told. Why would anyone would want to help Alduin destroy the world? Its not like he'll reward you for it. >_> Want to help Alduin? Jump off a cliff, reload, jump again, and rinse and repeat for 300 hours.

Yes. The almighty time god Alduin, who made Dagon piss himself and Shor run away with his tail between his legs, shall be reduced to a mere pup by mortals who wish to summon him...so he can eat the world and return it to just after the Dawn Age...because that would help their cause...somehow...

But part of the story is figuring out why the dragons are back. And also (unless the main quest is mostly story and little action) wouldnt there have to be more than just boss creatures to fight

All im basically asking is if we are only gonna be fighting dragons in the MQ because I personally wanted a more human faction in the MQ, or at least like baby dragons to fight to because im probally gonna do MQ first and didn't want to have to fight boss level dragons the entire time, along with their random encounters. My OP was just trying to get a way in so that we didn't have to fight dragons with a high hp, and damage and stuff, because I also want to fight regular enemies during MQ too, even if that means smaller dragons. Sorry if my OP was unclear but it was less of a theory and more of a way of asking if there will be smaller enemies in the MQ besides huge dragons because im afraid if so, then the MQ might get repetitive by slaying similar dragons the enitre campaign.

and to this I was thinking that they might see them as god like creatures, and would be fine with dying by there hand

There is always a faction helping against you in the main quest. If there is none in Skyrim than the MQ will svck and 95% of it will be you just killing Dragons which will get very boring.

Thats what im trying to explain, there has to be something to kill besides dragons right? even though the story is based around 'em theres got to be more to it....

Maybe my lore is messed up and this isnt possible not much into the lore but could Alduin as the time god go to the past maybe he promises to take those that help him back in time and spare them from the world eating event at the cost of forsakeing there family line.

Imperial Cultists seems like a likely option to me.j
