Faction Ideas

That giant mole rat is quite sick. If there are going to be any mounts in a future game, I'd like that as an option.

So how about a faction that has found Mole Rats of Unusual Size  and bred them to be mounts, and sells them as their main export. They would have started out as a tribe that worships mole rats, but a businessman came across them and saw the opportunity for business. Over the next 25 years, the tribe's values would be changed absolutely after the businessman hired Talon Company mercs to help him take control. About 5 years before you would encounter them, the former tribe would have rebelled and killed the businessman and the mercs, but would not revert back to their old ways and keep running the new company independently.

Seems like a ridiculous-yet-likely enough situation for Fallout, no?

last I checked mole rats could dig.
wouldn't be hard to surprise someone by digging under them.
Im glad all the Reaper citys are build on area where foundation is built and it would be to hard for the moles to eat threw.

Ohh, how about The Reefers, a hippy colony built over Vault 66, the Vault of free love and exotic cheroots.

Whilst the idea of a pothead faction is a little silly I'd bet good money that there is a Drug-Themed Vault out there (which has the inhabitants willingly taking the stuff as opposed to getting it pumped though the vents).

A small band of Talon Mercs certainly isn't invincible from an organized rebellion by tribals, sorry to say.

It really depends how large the tribe is and their weaponry, maybe if they have adequate numbers and weapons, but running at them just gets you beat up, shot up, and blown up.

a fight never depends on power or numbers. It depends on strategy the fact the moles can dig fast and there size would make a great distraction then the tribes men could sneak in an kill the Talons one by one. By the time the talon company found out a army had surrounded them they would be screwed royally.

Yeah, dont bring up Fallout 3, Enclave Soldiers in APA Mk. 2 could be beaten to death with a tire iron... Fallout 3's combat should in no way be taken seriously, it was wonky.

The Resistance

The Resistance is a millitary government made up of mostly of Enclave deserters. After being court marshelled for disobeying orders to elimante a town full of farmers and craftsmen, a whole regiment of Enclave soldiers left to wander the wasteland, many stayed togeather and found an old pre-wear millitary base. They went to work rebuilding the defences and soon had the power back on. After several attacks by the BoS they relised they had to change their aperincne to avoid the these skirmishes. Taking off some of the bulkyer parts of they're power armor, (thus making it easyer to travele the wasteland) they then painted they're armor with markings and designs to show they're rank. After a few years the Enclave had taken over many more settlements and had greatly dimnished the BoS's influnence the wasteland. The Resistance then relised that they had the power to hold off and even push back the Enclave's Blitz to power. Donning the name of "The Resistance" they rose up to face the Enclave. With the recrutement of many new people, and allinces with other faction ( like maybe that REAPERS faction mentionted in an earlyer post) including the remnates of the BoS they soon were in a full fledged war with the Enclave.

Soldiers and Such
The top of the line soldiers are called Spartans. They are mostly made up of the best vetrens, (and/or soldiers that pass the test,) of all the other types. They are lead by the top genral of the Resistance, Who was one of the origanl troops that were court marshelled. These soldiers are usally the first and last line of defence for the Resistance. Under the Spartans are the War Hawkshttp://dungeons.wikia.com/wiki/Power_Armor_(3.5e_Equipment), these soliders are Shock troops that are flowen behind enmeny lines via Vertibirds. Each Unit of War Hawks are lead by a Spartan called an Ephor. Next up are the Phalanxs, These are normal soliders that vary in spelization. They make up the bluk of the Resistances army. Inside of these groups are unit types. These consised of Apollodrorus's-Enginers, Unani-Medics, Anngelos-Spys/Messangers, Vasilis- Snipershttp://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/262009-power-armor-inspiration/, and Tholophonos- Assassinshttp://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Blood_Dragon_Armor

History and Wars
As the Resistance, is a much smaller force than the Enclave they can not aford to have (with the exception of a few major bases) any sationary bases. So they move there armys in convoys of repaired, pre-war, passanger trains and verti-birds. Each convoy consised of a 18-car train and 5 verti-birds gaurds.

First Contact War of 2271:
The first war that the Resistance ever fought. After only half a year of being founded they made their first contact with the BoS, with thier apperence still resembaling the Enclave's, the BoS chapter thought that they were still part of the Enclave. After several engagements with the BoS the Resistanc elabled this chapter as a threat. Asmebaling thier army the Resistance set out on a 300 mile march throught BoS occuiped territory to thier main base. After the Resistance had taken the base, the BoS leaders (most of whom were not present at the battle) thought that the entier remaining garrison at the base would be executed. To thier surrprise however, the Resistance sent the entier group of survivers back to the the others with a message that offered a truce between the two factions so that the Resistance could continue their campiange aginst the Enclave. Seeing that Resistance was a much better organized as well as qualifyed army they accepted and soon afterwards they had an (at first uneasy) alliance.

Southward March War of 2276:
An army/ caravan, that was carrying 200 soldiers and 80 cilvillians, was cut off from the rest of the force at the main base by an Enclave attack force, so looking for a place to regroup they headed south to regroup and ulitamtly head back to renforce the main army. When they came south they saw that there were more factions roaming the wasteland that would make valuable allies, they set up a small fort and set out to become more aqaunted with the other factions. A few months later they recive news from the main force that the Enclave has moved south which makes them the new front line. During that time some of the familes that had come down with the caravan had made a living farming in the more ferttile southren gorund so inseded of retreating they stayed to protect their new sorce of income.

So an entire regiment of Enclave citizens deserted the Enclave over un-ethical choices only to stay back to fight them? Why?

The Followers of the Holy nuka, long ago in 2208 a bunch of half dyhrdated wastelanders who where dying of thirst so a large thing appeared on the horizon, they wen't to investigate in hopes of water, but they instead found something so maginificent yet so terrible they found a giant ice cold Nuka Cola blinded by its beauty,it spoke to them telling them they could all have a sip of it if they became its followers, the wastrels anxiously agreed
dying of thirst they swarmed upon the Nuka Cola greed and thirst overpowered their good judgement they Cola was all gone and the Nuka bottle died. With their thirst replenshed the wastelanders began to feel sick
their stomachs started gurgling and moving uncontrollably Bam! their stomachs ruptured Cola burst out every where drowning the Wasteland,as for their greed was to much for the Cola to handle its purity was to remain
as only a pure of heart can drink it.Many years later When the Lone nuka collector, ventured for vault cap 6 after the Overseer acused him of stealing his nuka cola he was forced to flee for his life the travelor heard rumours of a cult that worshiped a giant Nuka Cola so he set out it search of it in hopes of bringing it back to his vault so he can get back in the rest is down to legend.

The commander of the regiment held alot of respect from the soliders when he and the soliders involved were court marsheled they deserted as well. A few years later the commander sees a chance to to make up for the mistakes he made while in the Enclave years ago and deised that it is time that the Enclave is stopped

This was in a place where the Enclave was founded, with hundreds of thousands of members, whole citys. Think NCR only the Enclave

Yes, I know they're history, though I think this a nice fresh resvisit to the Enclave. Having larger, stronger, more country like characteristics makes them much much cooler and alot more scaryer
