Faction Ideas #2

The rule being that you add from what faction you are from? What if you just want to jump into the role play like fattoler and me, maybe we don't belong to a faction? :P Ah, nevermind, I've never been good at this anyways, and I don't have my own fictional faction which fattoler has and now uses. Ta ta!

Well, my Empire does not use money, my people go by the bartering system, or charity; this coin is from before the Event.

Its not you. they have been here drinking all day. and yes he is. of his city and home

Also as long as hes here all currency is excepted. thats one reason the reapers have become so rich. because we except all currency. It makes trade easy and helps in controlling fights.

Is this Role Playing?

I came up with a faction in Detroit. They are called the Motor City Core (MCC) which consist of a few smaller factions, the Detroit Militia (which is a group of do-gooders who kill raiders, mutants, and anything else that threatens the city of Detroit. Another one is the Engineers who are the remnants of Chryslus, Corvega, PMV, and any other Fallout car company, which teamed up and began making cars again. They make millions of their currency (which should not be caps but something different... I'll think of something) a year. There is also the group called the Elite, they once were an Enclave Outpost when the Chicago Outpost was at it's prime (mid 2100s) which became the leaders of Detroit. They united all of the factions to form the MCC. That's all for now.

Here's the updated version of the Defiler sheet with every soldier type and equipment for each. I think this is the complete version but I'm still open to suggestions from anybody. I'll be working on the Defiler's enemies the G.L.M next.

Spoiler
Faction Name: The Defilers

Location: Louisiana. South west of what was once New Orleans.

Morality: Mostly neutral but varies depending on the situation

Enemies: Ghoul Liberation Movement (will make a separate post on the G.L.M)

Main Base/Settlement: The Foundry, a shipwrecked Pre-War United States naval vessel.

Technology: Most of the weaponry use by the Defilers are remodeled and repaired versions of equipment used by the United States Armed Forces from before the War. Such weapons include: the R91 Assault Rifle, sniper rifles, missile launchers, flamers, and minigun. This is only a small list of the many armaments in which the Defilers manufacture. Modified combat armor is the normal armor for Defiler infantry but some heavy troopers where parts of scavenged power armor for extra protection. The Defilers also have access to a handful of T-51B and T-45D power armor suits with no idea on how to repair or operate them. Due to the lost knowledge of how to manufacture their own energy weapons the Defilers maintain the arsenal of weapons that were already stored in the ship.

History: The Defilers are descendants of Vault dwellers who were forced out of their vault due to severe lack of food (part of this particular vault experiment). The Overseer decided to go south, towards the coast where he hoped there would be enough food and safety to ensure the survival of the vault dwellers. Armed with the usual armaments in Vault armories, the vault dwellers faced the terrors of the wastes with little firepower. Every day the dwellers lost more and more of their own but at last they reached their destination. Finding that the water was heavily irradiated and the mutated sea creatures even more terrifying than the land ones, the Vault dwellers moved on. After nearly losing half of their number, including the original overseer, they had found a safe haven where the Vault dwellers could defend themselves from the wastes and make their new home. A huge, damaged ship beached along the Gulf coast was exactly what the Vault dwellers were looking for. After blasting their way in with what remained of their explosives, the Vault dwellers were the first humans to see the inside of the vessel for years. The explored the ship from end to end and killed any creatures that called it home. Stumbling across a closet full of holotapes from the old Captain of the vessel, the Vault dwellers discovered the history and origins of the great ship. Before the nuclear apocalypse during the Anchorage Reclamation, the ship was an experimental factory ship whose purpose was to repair weapons for the soldiers on sight to help eliminate the stress on supply lines. It could also recycle ammunition, repair armor, make new guns with the right materials, and even train troops on the ship. After Alaska was recaptured the vessel sailed home to the naval research facility that it was created from after proving a huge success to repair damages. A few days before reaching it's destination the bombs dropped. Most of the crew died of radiation sickness and many other soldiers committed suicide hoping to avoid the destroyed world. The captain and a few others tried to keep the ship on course but to no success. It crash landed on the coast and what remained of the crew either tried to leave the ship or died. The Vault dwellers realizing their incredible luck in finding the vessel quickly began making repair to its hull and weapon making systems. Eleven years later and the vault dwellers have changed into a powerful organisation. They lost all connection to their vault and became known as the Defilers. Their soldiers are some of the most well armed and trained in the Wasteland and are a force to be reckoned with. Using the same training as the Armed Forces before the war that was discovered, the Defilers are a full fledged military. Nearly every aspect is the same from ranking system to squad tactics. They Defilers have used the foundries to repair and create new weapons and ammunition and trade them for profit. A thriving city has sprung up around the Foundry, the inhabitants seeking protection from the wasteland. The Defilers happily agreed with the wastelanders as long as they provided food and manpower to operate heavy machinery. Smoke covers the sky around the Foundry as the Defilers make keep manufacturing new firearms from scavenged parts each day. From what were once helpess vault dwellers turned into a mixture of arms dealers, soldiers, and warmongers, the Defilers are the iron fist that keeps the surrounding wasteland in check.

Government: The Defilers are ruled by a high council which act as judges, generals, and overseers of all Defiler operations. They have written every law that the wastelanders around the Foundry must follow if they want to have Defiler protection. They are also very single minded in the fact that they do not want to rule over the wasteland. The Defilers only care about self-preservation and care little about the safety of the wasteland, except for their own surrounding town. Only engaging in conflicts when the enemy is proven to be a force that could endanger the Defilers' existence has proven through the years to be positive for the Defilers in terms of casualties and profit. Being arms dealers as well means that wars make the Defilers rich in caps and slaves.

Policies: The high council of the Defilers has deemed it necessary to use slaves as laborers to keep the many foundries of the ship running without having to pay outsiders. However, slaves are treated better than others and are given full quarters, safety, and food. Defilers do recruit from surrounding settlements but the selection process is extremely thorough. It is estimated that only 1 out of every 10 recruits is chosen to be a Defiler. To prove their loyalty even more the recruits must then work in the foundries for five months to become a full-fledged Defiler.

Military Organisation and Equipment: Since the Foundry itself can hold nearly 5,000 men at most, the Defiler military is well reinforced as well as trained and equipped. And since every member of the Defilers is required to go through at least basic military training the max body count of the Defiler Force can reach 9,000. The Defiler chain of command and is almost identical to that of Pre-War America's and is represented here in declining order followed by the chain of command (Each rank coincides with the groups).

1 Division--> 2 Brigades--> 9 Battalions--> 90 Companies--> 225 Platoons--> 900 squads.

Colonel--> Lieutenant Colonel--> Captain--> Lieutenant--> Sergeant.

The High Council oversees all Defiler military actions and oversees all Commanding Officers in the military. Essentially the generals of the Defiler military.

Each squad is equipped with the standard equipment of Defiler soldiers.

Primary: R91 Assault Rifle
Secondary: 9mm pistol and Trench Knife/bayonet
Armor: Modified Combat Armor and helmet
Explosive: Fragmentation Grenades
Other: Canteen

It is also standard practice that in each squad there is at least one support or heavy weapon such as energy weapons and sometimes work in teams.

Primary: Laser Rifle, Minigun, Flamer, or Missile Launcher
Secondary: 9mm pistol and Trench Knife/bayonet
Armor: Modified Combat Armor and helmet. Sometimes with salvaged power armor plating.
Explosive: Fragmentation grenades or extra missiles if equipped with a missile launcher
Other: Extra ammo and Canteen

Defiler saboteurs are elite special forces in the Defiler's military and can function as assassins, demolition teams, search and rescue or destroy teams, death squads, and are experts in guerrilla warfare type fighting against the Defiler's greater enemies. Saboteurs are usually assigned the 'dirtier' missions from the High Council and are feared by wastelanders and fellow Defilers alike. Recruit saboteurs are hand picked from the normal recruits for their combat excellence and other important qualities then each recruit receives training in a location only known to the High Council and higher ranking saboteurs. Most saboteurs units function independently (similar to NCR rangers but in groups) and sometimes go off the grid for weeks at a time on various assignments. Their equipment varies depending on the mission but they are trained in almost every type of fighting.

Primary: 10mm SMG, Marksman Carbine, Assault Carbine, or Silenced Sniper Rifle
Secondary: 12.7mm Pistol and Trench Knife
Armor: Camouflage Uniform with face wrap. No specific head gear
Explosive: Incendiary grenades, C4 plastic explosive, fragmentation grenades, or land mines
Other: Binoculars, face paint, and canteen

Defiler snipers are trained for maximum patience, perfection, and to be as heartless as possible. They are trained to eliminate enemies quickly and quietly. Standard operating procedure is to eliminate all enemies in a group and spare a handful to spread the word on the accuracy and stealth of the sniper. They work in teams of two consisting of a spotter and shooter and each pair is part of a network of other snipers. Four sniper teams sometimes arrange themselves in a square far off from each other and wait for the unfortunate enemy to enter the trap. The rest usually ends up being a cat and mouse game between the snipers and their prey who only delay the inevitable. Defiler snipers are some of the best in the wasteland and some of the coldest.

Primary: Anti Material Rifle, Sniper Rifle, or occasionally a refurbished hunting rifle with scope
Secondary: 10mm pistol and combat knife
Armor: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/images/6980-2-1244657408.jpg
Explosive: Occasionally landmines to funnel enemies but is usually replaced with extra ammunition
Other: Binoculars and enough supplies to last for days, sometimes weeks, in case of a extremely long stakeout

Defiler Brutes (couldn't think of a better name  ) are hulking berserkers armed with heavy weapons and scavenged power armor plating. Most brutes are huge men due to the extreme weight of the armored plating that the brutes wear. Brutes are usually deployed as sweeper teams, shock troops, heavy combat support, armored guards and sometimes purely for their intimidating size. Most are equipped with heavy weaponry and can put out an amazing amount of firepower in a short time. Brute squads work in groups of four to five and are not known for their speed but for the amount of punishment that they can take. The scavenged armored plating is layered over combat armor Mk. 2 for maximum protection. Defiler Brutes are incredibly vicious fighters and are highly respected, and feared, in the Defiler military.

Primary: Minigun, Flamer, Light Machine Gun, Incinerator, Grenade Machine gun, or even the Gatling Laser
Secondary: Sometimes a type of machete but is mostly extra ammo
Armor: Mk2 Combat Armor layered over with power armor plating and scavenged power armor helmet
Explosive: Fragmentation grenades
Other: Canteen and ammunition

The Defilers also have around ten restored howitzers on the flight deck of the Foundry and are used as heavy artillery for the Defilers while in range. These artillery crews can obliterate any force that would try to steal the Defiler's weapons manufacturing abilities before it reaches the city gates.

Due to Simon aka Usir as called by his tribe is a glowing ghoul and the mere presence would burn the lesser of mortals of bad health. So has sent an envoy to greet with the meetings inside.

The envoy dusting off his tunic and rags at the door enters sliding off his ocular goggles and wrappings from his face and squints around.

"Greetings. I am told this is the place to quench your thirst correct?". Slowly looking aorund the room he notices the room almost empty. "Hello?"

Also a glimpse at the Sheuts armoury and tactics, and types of soldiers.
[spoiler] The basic tactics of the Sheuts is guerilla war tactics, sabotage, ambush, and assasination if need be. The basic soldier they send out are scouts who watch over their outlying neighbors of what their up to and to keep their homes and places of interest secret from outside eyes.

Scouts equipment - No real armour just the rags they wear that are soaked and treated with the special ant pheremone to keep ants neutral of them. They carry mainly spears and swords made from scrap metal or insect pincers. They wear ocular eyewear to see well in desert storms.

Gaurd - They as many wear the same rags but wear a series of insect carapices made from radscorpions and ants to create a chitin like armour around major points of the body it is outfitted near the more dexterious parts with animals skins such as gecko leather or Brahmin hide. They also treat it with special mistures and recipes to resist against flames.

Sun Warrior - Some of the priests have created armour that revolves around the solar cell machinery they work hard to produce they wear solar cells as armour that help to reflect EW and other light based weaponry with a mixture of insect carapices. They use Thermic Lances, Incinerators, and flamers and any kind of flame based weaponry.

Sir, no disrespect, but that is a VERY bold claim.

I respect you, but ask any legionary, or "target practice" as we call them, how far have they reached into our woods... It's Solon Springs, or now called Miskwi Zeegwung (Blood Springs) in Ojibwa...Only because we where not considering them a real threat.

He may not control as much land as legion or have as many people under his control but there a lot stronger then any legionary. Although Im sure the 2 of you are equal. Heck both of you pose great strength.

SIR! This is your lucky day, I have two things to share!

1) the elk are back in season, so yes I will bring it up to Erin, thats the Chief of Trade, I am sure we'd love to do business!
and 2) My "vacation" was to find new civilizations to trade with or deem as potential threats...So far, only ill words around friends, Sir Emperor, I wish you no ill will.

I have a cooler cart out side with meats and dishes from my civilization, feel free to have a sample of a few...
I recommend the elk jerky, elk stake, Duckey(that's like duck and turkey), and Lakelurk chowder

Bold? You mistake my words, this was not a claim, it was a prediction, it is set in stone. My Empire is no mere band of tribes as the Legion, my Empire is the future, the utopia of the new kind. As to the matter of controlled land, my Empire expands outward from the old Oklahoma, it appears to be a giant city, but it is a single nation, spanning the entire old state.

I am indeed lucky. Ill order it all except the Lake lurk chowder. If I was northern or western maybe but mirelurks down here in the south come aplenty. of all shapes and sizes.

Would you like to try some mirelurk catfish. Its real tasty but slightly hard to get. Seeing as catfish mirelurks can take a nasty beating.

I am from the north, from Mackinaw Island...Or where you referring to Old New York?

And I would love some, how much?

Sir Emperor, would you care to join us? We can discuss our customs and ethics, maybe work out some form of trade agreement or even a link between the two nations...So long as you are not allied with the Legion.

My Empire is completely self-sufficient, a true post-scarcity utopia, my people have available to them objects known to them as Creators, powered by Collectors, that will give unto them anything they know themselves how to make, they then Barter for things they do not know how to make, for things they need, or receive it as charity. My people need no trade, my Empire is a utopia, my people need no protection, my Imperials are of the highest echelon of strength. A link between us? Only if you are willing to amalgamate into my Empire, if not, you must wait for expansion to reach you, until then, you must carry on your lives until the day.
