so.. you're a mercenary?

No. It would be interesting, though. It's still in the cards, but a pain to get into. I actually don't know where to start, and most resources treat it as a joke.

But this thread is about Brink. I'm not interested in only playing one side of the story. I don't even know what the story is, entirely, so I don't know who I think is "right", either.

Everyone will play both sides of the story. I will play both sides of the story, I'll even fight for Security if I have to. I prefer to play as Resistance though.

That shouldn't stop you. Plenty of people(s) hiring for that sort of thing at the moment.

As for me, I'm not a soloist on the field.
I'm most proficient in a group, leading strike teams, or taking lead when those
above me crap out on their job, and their experience flies out the window.

Yall know who you are, you 5JumpChumps!

Ranger John: Graduated BAC friday Rangers. Was a cool experience, although my PLFs were more like "come burning in and see what happens when u hit the ground haha", got to be first man out on 2 of the jumps. [censored] cool. We got picked up by the Rangers Friday and got the be-jesus smoked out of us. Gonna be in holdovers for a while. Will continue to update as i go. Thanks again Rangers.

Ranger Bill: Good SITREP and congratulations for learning how to fall out of an airplane.

I have been looking at a few of the videos and it looks like resistance is always attacking (bombing) and the Security is always defending; escort and protect bomb site but I maybe wrong.

There has been a war poll before (It had maybe 5-7 continuation threads). Between all of the factions, it was pretty balanced.

This is the ninth thread of this topic, I believe.

And it's already halfway through because the same people post the same stuff again. :spotted owl:

two - better reason to fight

People really need to stop saying one side or the other has a better reason to fight because in the SP both sides will be in the right in their campaign. Also the brink team are probably laughing there little socks off watching us fight.

Security, The only reason being i want to be a light operative and sneak around the battlefield and take out players who get in my way and interogate the resistance :D

Also the archetypes are more concealing.

That's certainly true, considering conflicts rising in Libya and over in North Korea. The problem is I'd have acquire training (which is in the process), a lot of money (definitely in the process), and reputation among potential clients (that's the tough one). I am young, and understand I've got some time before I can really step up and act, so I'm taking this time to do serious planning.

As for how that translates to Brink, I think it'll more be about XP and weapon unlocks. I want XP (money) and weapons/abilities (tools/resources). So, I'll go for whichever objective gets me more XP and take on whichever challenges award me useful weapons. That's how a mercenary plays.

You forgot Afghanistan.

Let's not pretend Israel is very peaceful, either.

I'm not a mercenary, so looking at current conflicts won't so much benefit me, in regards to looking for business. Gotta look ahead, or else you can't figure out who's gonna win, thereby making the mistaking of siding with the losers; that's bad reputation. I'll want to secure a client as early into the game as possible. This lets me make money off the winner for the most amount of time as possible. Very good reputation.

I'd say that Anywhere in south asia around India, Iraq, or Pakistan would be up for a fight next. Or maybe countries near Libya will follow their example.

So, let me ask you: Where would you go? At the very least, knowing all these conflicts you can hop right into, how would you decide who to advertise to?

You could also side with the team you think is better. If your team is failing epically it's time to switch sides

A dead merc doesn't make any cash but then again, major armies don't really hire mercs.......hard to say who to advertise to.

Negative. It's time to take credit for the losers' losing and blackmai-- er, "negotiate" with the winners.

If it were me, I'd look at the richest nation in conflict. Odds are, their enemy is also pretty well-off. Watch this conflict open up and make the best choice as to who's got what it takes to get what they want. Make the contact, offer to make it so the to-be victor comes out of it with clean hands, and name a price.

Oh, and order weaponry from the to-be losers.
