Factions you would like to see in Fallout 4?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 7:01 pm

Of course it could get in-depth and not be so black and white I'm just laying down foundations of what should be included. A mixed community would be interesting in which ghouls are equal but some extreme groups cause tenions. BTW how the hell would you intergrate a trok into society?

"Holy haberdashery Lyons, the Enclave's back, again!"

Can the Lone Wander and the Brotherhood stop the Enclave's dastardly schemes? Find out in Fallout 8! Same Fallout-Price! Same Fallout-Store!

Heh. :P

Well not Bethesda's "feral" crap.
I'm talking about the real trogs, Van Buren trogs. ;)

Yeah, Van Buren Troglodytes would be awesome. Friendly, below average intelligence but good survivors, sensitive to light but thick skin, very pale skin, hair and eyes (since they lack melanin which gives all these things its color), probably ugly faces aswell. I do imagine them a bit like a small, pale friendly ogre. :)

I really don't want to see any black or white factions like in Fallout 3-especially after I was spoiled with Fallout: New Vegas. Which makes the "black and white" flaw in most of the game that much more glaringly obvious. I loved Fallout 3, but the black and white morality? I'd like to "kill it with fire" and then destroy it in a multitude of other, more gruesome ways(which I'm too lazy to bother listing).

If the canon for the Enclave was that they were destroyed(which is what it appears to be), then I wouldn't want to see anything more than remnants and such. Kind of like Ed-E; maybe more than something just like that, but yeah.

I'm personally hoping to see some brand new factions, with depth and detailed backgrounds, instead of the further use of older Fallout ideas alone. It's kind of unrealistic, since there's so little contact with places even within the same state, let alone places from opposite coasts. Not to say I don't like most of the factions in the games, but it would still kind of ruin it if there was just a continuous milking of the same old ideas entirely.

I would love to see brand new successful factions (possibly a Monarchy?)... I hope Bethesda makes the story have alot of depth... I love good stories and Bethesda can make them well, but they need to raise the bar.

Ninja Maids please.
I'm serious.
I'm [censored] tired of watching EVERY SINGLE PLACE being dirty as [censored].
Can't any place actually look neat and tidy?
Did everyone mutate into pigs or something?
So either this faction OR clean the damn place up...

Hey hey, even in our pre-war world, people can keep their homes and streets real messy. Or are you one of those pedants, cannot leave your room in the morning if you haven't made your bed first, with decorative pillows and all that? ;) Besides, you know that men are pigs, apocalypse or not, and that the Fallout games are mostly populated and things are run by men, wouldn't that explain a lot?
I can mention The Strip, Tenpenny Tower and even Rivet City as clean enough places. :P

But I mean like Mojave Outpost. It's a military toll, and it would take one day to clean up the mess on the floor and stuff, yet, no one does it.
It just feels like the games are trying to hard with the post apocalypse feel, that even if some place is civilized there needs to be some form of indication that it's trashed, hence the filth.
But it makes no sense to me as the people have lived there for decades and there's "still" trash lying around.
I mean, one could pick the old paper scattered around and throw it into a barrel with some other nice things that can burn and aren't poisonous and have a nice fire to warm yourself during a cold night.
All the things scattered around "can" be used for other things.
It just makes no sense to me how some people "like" to live in filth.
And yes, I am a pedantic person. :)

I'm thinking that Enclave could be explained through other things without having them in the actual game.
Like finding an old Enclave bunker with a bunch of useful history that explains a part of them more indept.
Maybe finding a crashed vertibird with a broken holotape that has a small segment of data remaining intact which fills a plothole.
Et cetera.
There are several ways to explain Enclave without having them there in the flesh.

What about a faction built up of humans "and" ghouls?
Which doesn't fight a tyrant group which wants to see them in chains.

I think Ghouls, Super Mutants, Hillfolk, Lobotomites, Trogs and other FEV experiments need to integrated into the society more.

I would like to see an Enclave civil war, something like Autumnian Enclave vs President Eden, if he managed to transport his AI to a hidden bunker, maybe even with a dormant army of robots/cyborgs. I can see something like that happening in the Commonwealth and if the game takes place after FO3, let's just hope they keep the Enclave intact after that, as a permanent faction in said region. Still, I would prefer the game taking place before FO3, maybe even let us build up a new faction to be.

A human + ghoul faction would certainly be interesting, but only in a region where that's likely to happen. Like somewhere up north maybe even New York, though I already hated all the rubble blocking paths in FO3 (talk about not cleaning the place), and I think NYC would be even worse where it might work with 'em politically correct Yankee liberals there. I don't think folks over here would take kindly to ghouls though (unless their friends happen to become ghoulified, hurray for hypocrisy). Though I also think everybody will have doubts about ghouls working in the food industry.

What's that thing floating around in my soup
Oh, that's just my finger smoothskin

A society of humans that enslaves, segregates, and genocides ghouls. (not enclave lol)

So you would enslave them, only to segregate them before you kill them, right? Wouldn't it be easier to just shoot them on sight (or SOS)?

I'd like to see a few things;

If we can speculate Fallout 4 will sequel Fallout New Vegas then it should take place where a large confliction of powers would be.

Perhaps north of nevada near wyoming. This will bring several factions back like;

Great Khans, New Califorina Republic, Followers of the Apocalypse and the Brotherhood of Steel. (West Coast) and the Mid-Western Brotherhood.

Though maybe we should see what the Courier will be like as an NPC, since it is always interesting to see what your former character would react to your new PC. Amirite?

Courier thing is nearly impossible to happen. Each courier would be different in everyones playthrough so you would have to make him a "god without face" to appear in a game yeah and without voice.

I want the next Fallout to be in Chicago.

And have a Faction called 'The Capone's' or 'The Family' something Gangster/Mafia like that, have them the Bad guys.

The good faction should be a whole new army, like the Chicago Republic..
but have enclave in it because on wiki it has information there is a large base there.

I'd rather Bethesda continue their east coast story and don't just leave it hanging.
Let Obsidian develop the west coast/mid-west games.

Maybe they've got more important things to do than pick up trash from the floor? It won't harm anyone, unless paper mutate aswell. Ok, I'm an ass. I get you. But I would think that, when you began talking about the Mojave Outpost in the topic of "cleaning up", my first thought was that wouldn't they have got rid of many of those car wreckages outside that is blocking the way for caravans to pass through. I mean, caravans in a real life Fallout would be much much bigger than it is in game due to engine restrictions. I think they would've dragged a lot of those cars away, maybe even stacked them to create barriers for possible Legion attacks since they are pretty much the frontline. And no, they don't have time to do that, not even picking up the paper from the floor, but raising a huuuuge scrap metal statue they've got time for :D

There's a mod on the Fallout Nexus which takes place in NYC (haven't played it though)... In the mod they explained that NYC mostly survived because they used as many forces they had left in the area to fend off the bombers (I mean really we're talking about America with one of the strongest militaries in the world... they'll ATLEAST be able to shoot down a couple dozen Chinese plains!) radiactive shards hit the ground (and they managed to completely destroy Queens and Brooklyn) but the buildings are still standing. So there wouldn't be any giant piles of rubble from nowhere, it would make sense how all of the weapons came from, there would be many well armed factions, and everybody who wanted New York but was afraid of the rubble can rejoice! :celebration: :celebration: :celebration: :celebration: :celebration: :celebration: :celebration: :celebration:

As long as it's something new I'm cool with it.

I thought the reusing of factions (and virtually everything else, supermutants...really?) in FO3 was lame. It was a fun game but I was really hoping around every corner to find something new and well thought out, and they did that with some of the DLC (Pitt).

It's always seemed to me that the Post-Nuclear wasteland is a perfect opportunity to explore what sorts of organizations people create when the old ones cease to exist.

Some very cool factions have come out of that idea, BOS, Caesar, NCR, but there's no reason you can't set one somewhere else and come up with something unique again.

Exactly! All (or most) factions are cool at first, but when reused they become stale... If you allow large breaks inbetween them then people will be like, "Oh the NCR they are EPIC!" instead of "Oh the NCR... Weren't they in the last four games?"

And that's why I resent Enclave and BOS.
On the other hand, if there are no connections to the former games' factions then the new factions might make it seem... Off..
So some factions should be there or some spin-off factions like a BOS chapter that went rouge and changed appearance, ideology and tactics.

you mean like the Midwest Brotherhood of Steel?

I really really hope they're in Fallout 4.....

They might be the only BoS faction that I could sorta like, as long as they don't fight with the Enclave....

What factions would you like to see in Fallout 4? Personally, I want to see the BoS and the Enclave. As long as those two factions are in there, I'm a happy camper.

Me like me like!

Brotherhood of Steel and Enclave both top my list of factions for Fallout 4. If their not in it then I may not purchase it, Fallout NV was alittle to boring for me, way to much NCR influence for my liking.

I would expect the Chicago outpost (hopefully an Autumist Enclave) to either be workign with or together or in slgiht competition with the MWBoS.

If the Barnaky Ending is the canon ending then Enclave definitely have aplace alongside the MWBoS
