Factions you would like to see in Fallout 4?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 5:36 pm

I would expect the Chicago outpost (hopefully an Autumist Enclave) to either be workign with or together or in slgiht competition with the MWBoS.

If the Barnaky Ending is the canon ending then Enclave definitely have aplace alongside the MWBoS

I really hope the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2ZcpcO7C58 is canon. The story would be awesome. The Enclave in Chicago would be alot like the MWBoS that have started to form a fascist military dictatorship that goes from Chicago to Colorado but the Enclave would have had to change as well. Dispite the BoS acting alot like them they are still impure in the eyes of the Enclave but if the Enclave in the area were smart they could become allies with the bos.

Way I see it. The MWBoS fight a bloody war against the Super Mutants and then the Calculator. They force settlements to aid them by giving food, ammo and their best and brightest. Many people do join willingly but the BoS treat them as cannon fodder. The Elders let mutations join because they can be very useful in places humans can't due to radiation.

Vault Zero falls to the BoS and Barnaky becomes one with the Calculator. The BoS are happy to have General Barnaky back. There is a push to make him the head Elder of the MWBoS. The famed warrior (you) who is also a General backs the move to make Barnaky the new head elder. Which he does become.

He soon recalls all mutations from the BoS armies and orders them back to their home bases were they are disarmed and tagged, later to be sent to work camps. BoS stops letting mutations join. Laws are pased and any mutation within the BoS' territory is to be rounded up and also sent to camps. (work/death camps) Which is the start of the great betrayal.

Elders that were most against Barnaky becoming head elder are removed from power. Soon purges happen with in the BoS, anyone that was against barnaky or seen to aid mutations are also sent to the camps. Entire settlement get put to the flame. Soon the Mutant Liberation army forms. BoS caravans and outpost get hit. Work camps are liberated. The BoS see a dramatic fall in people willing to join the BoS. They start having desertions.

Human numbers are replaced more an more by calculator robots and more purges follow fearing an inside job. The BoS stop trying to contact the West in order to get their own house in order.

Biggest blow happens when rouge BoS members set off several bombs within Vault Zero in a failed coup d'état. Many of the calculators systems are damged beyond repair. Barnaky lives but finds has less control over the robotic forces. He can't control them all at once and the ability to make more robots is severely hampered.

Mutant Liberation Army makes allies with whats left of the reaver movement and are supplied with EMP weapons. The remaining slaver/raider groups once again become stronge and prey on BoS settlements and outposts.

Decades of bloody Guerrilla warfare against the MLA and the predation of other factions (slavers, raiders) have driven the MWBoS back to their remaining strongholds such as Vault Zero and Cities in between Colorado and Chicago.

Lyons and his BoS are sent out to make contact but don't really know where they are, they know the MWBoS went East. They took a path that takes them away from the MWBoS strongholds at Vault Zero and the others in the Midwest. As Lyons gets closer to DC he hears rumors of people that have similar tech and a simbol are in the area. Lyon spends along time hunting down those rumors. MWBoS fearing that Lyons is just the tip of a larger army coming up from the south east, do what they can to not be found by them.

Lyons is persistent and soon the MWBoS send out a group of their own elders to make contact. They tell Lyons that MWBoS are just a few hundred men and women close to Chicago. Lyons having made contact goes on to the more imprtaint mission of heading to DC.

Like the Barnaky ending states its a war the Mutant Liberation Army is distended to lose. MWBoS have seen bitter defeat after bitter defeat for generations and are now a shadow of their glory days but time is on their side. Mutations can't reproduce and the ones that don't fall to the BoS will be taken care of by father time. The humans and fellow bos memebers that sided with the MLA grow tired of fighting. Seeing as how they have crippled the MWBoS and liberated much of their territory. They just want to settle and farm, the threat is all but gone (so they think). After generations of war the younger generations don't take up the fight.

Maybe the MWBoS will find an ally in Augustus Autumn and his advanced tech can help the MWBoS take back what they lost.

The Midwestern Brotherhood would be cool, they'd probably be distinct and familiar enough, like Sebor13 said, to be a nice faction for FO4 and it could be based in Chicago like another poster mentioned.

They would still need to deal with the very non-canon http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Vault_0 that was the culmination of the Midwest BoS's journey.

It sort of defeated the point of the Vault Experiments that were laid out in the very-canon FO2.

Bethesda has said the major events of FO Tactics are canon which would mean the battle against the calculator and vault zero is canon.

Way I see vault zero. Enclave had the oil rig but they needed a place to put the rest of the usa government thats not Enclave. So they built Vault Zero which was to have contact with the other vaults. Enclave did not care about Vault Zero so they were the ones that cut the funding to Vault Zero which in the end caused the Calculator to fail. The people in side Vault Zero all die which is good for the Enclave. Enclave weren't going to share the Oil rig with the Government. They wanted control. They could not kill them before or during the war, so putting them in a Vault which was built poorly (vault zero) was the best move.

Vault Zero was built where America already had a base but they wanted it bigger and for to be the hub of the vaults so they can rebuild. Those in the Enclave which were behind the Vaults agreed to build Vault Zero to make the rest of he government happy. They knew nothing of the Enclave or the Oil Rig or the Vault experiments. Vault Zero could just have been a nickname for the really big bunker since it was to be the "heart"
of the Vaults which to the government (those not apart of the enclave) were all going to help rebuild america.

This explains Vault Zero.

And there we have the foundation of a story. Make a game based of that. Maybe that's when the Enclave near Chicago will ally with the MWBoS, and get their influence in the East Coast Power Armor as seen in Fallout 3.

If it's pre-Fallout 3 then why would they ally with the BoS yet persue no diplomatic relation of any kind with anyone else?

Maybe the Enclave there are/were isolated and few and followed a different ideology, and saw benefits in it. Maybe they just exploited the BoS for data to give to their superiors in DC? Maybe they were discovered and had to make a decision? I dunno. You have any explination why the Eastern Enclave have very similar Power Armor to the MWBoS and not use the awesome original ones they used in in the west?

Nope, there is none and to get one aside from "Artistic-Differences" I supposed would be good. Damn I do love classic Enclave amour! I just don't like the idea of changing tact is all, not one for "Autumnist-Enclave" as people are calling it, pvssyfooting around and playing nice, Enclave should be murky, hidden in the shadows and pulling strings if need be. I admit Tactics I left of my list of gaining proper perspective on the Fallout series in the lead to Fallout 3 (to be 14 and optemistic again!) but I am aware of the armour similarities.

I like the Enclave as shadow people as well but as a large faction they are gone so like SavageBeatings said there are many reasons why the Chicago Enclave could have ended up allied or just on a friendly footing with the like minded BoS. Over time the Enclave gain power within the MWBoS and slowly over the decades since Tactics become a shadow government within the MWBoS. Or very least have the ear of many elders within the BoS maybe even Barnaky.

MWBoS under Barnaky become a military state. They force settlements under their "protection" to give them their best and brightest for training. MWBoS are also not like Lyons BoS or the Western BoS for they don't all have power armour. Only the Generals, paladin and elite units get power armour. The rest have to make do with metal armour, combat or other types of armour. Most of their power is made up of people that don't use power armour. So its not like their is an army of MWBoS out ther with thousands of PA wearing troops or that they are making thousands of new types of PA like the style in Tactics. Its possible they are making some but they don't have the ability to make enough for everyone and after decades of war I doubt they can make more then a dozen a year.

MWBoS don't see all humans as impure like the Enclave just as long as that person looks human they pass as human. They share technology with those "under their protect" and not just military tech but farming tech. They want to rid the wasteland of mutations and so does the Enclave.

The Chicago Enclave could still want to kill all impure but have used their advanced tech to worm their way into the heart of the MWBoS. Their new goal could just be, "if we can't kill them at least control them." Whats left of the Enclave in Fo3 under Autum find their way to Chicago and give a big boost to the MWBoS and help them turn the tide of a war they have been loosing for decades.

Or high up Autumist Enclave members become Elders, or something like that as I expect a merging would maybe cause them to change names possibly.

I sort of want to play from the perspective of an Enclave citizen in a region over run with completely new enemies and with out the old ones.

The only BOS chapter i like is the east coast one and i think they need to stay where they're at. DC is gonna be even deadlier once the NCR or Legion find them.

I'd like a lot more new factions in F4... F3 had no new factions which was disappointing.

I'd prefer the MWBoS/Isolated Enclave in F5... I think the story would be about them expanding rapidly to the north, south, east, and west (because they heard the Western BoS was completely destroyed from some travelers)... But there they run into Caesar's Legion (what's left of it), an army of securitrons (guardsing the borders of Independant Vegas), and the NCR (spreading north of Vegas to destroy the Legion)... And unlike in Vegas where the war was at a stalemate, in this one it is all out war. War related quests everywhere, here are a few examples:

They're Watching Us- Find the NCR spy in the MWBos Military Base

Enemy at the Gate- Fight off the Legion invasion on a city, newly annexed by the MWBoS

When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again- Prevent the Spy's NCR Informant from escaping back to NCR territory with all the MWBoS information

Both the legion and NCR are fast expanding nations that will attempt to gain control over all they see as valuable. DC is a symbol of power. Thats why the Enclave wanted it and it will be why the Legion or NCR want it.

Thats a good plot, DC, the symbol of power, all factions wants it, (better plot for Fallout 3 IMO)

The problem is.

New Vegas its still under story development.

The possible way is the NCR, who after the defeat of the Legion, they surely want to expand, even if their Capital is in California, and maybe convert DC in another state to dominate,

The Legion wants to expand to the West in California, so, i dont think that they are not even interested in DC

Hugh----- i mean House and Jim Ca--- erm Yes Man are the less likely to expand their power

BOS and Enclave are the more likely of all of them, but the BOS are too weak in the west and the Enclave are only remnants

Well both the NCR and/or the Legion lost a lot of troops, money, and supplies in this war...

I'd brefer if canon was House or Yes Man so that the three giant countries stop expanding as much... Once their expansion is slowed then we'll be able to have many more games where everybody isn't civilized...

I've three ideas for towns (medium sized factions)

idea 1: the town of Heaven
It's a town that's being run by woman, the men are threated well but are second rate citizens (no decision makingpowers)
Since most politicians were men before the war, these woman have taken control under the motto: " we can do things better"
They are friendly to new woman that want to join there society ...
Men can join to but only if they have neutral karma or better ... They won't be very friendly but they won't shoot you on sight either.
They don't have an army powerfull enough to try to conquer the wastes but have very good snipers and one-armed gun handlers so that they can defend their perimeter with ease against intruders.

idea 2: Confedarate city.
This is a larger city (size new vegas) and it's known forit's hierarchy. There are different classes. economy is based on the south's plantages during the 19th century
On top is the monarch LEE (one mean son of a [censored] who only wants more power land money and woman)
just benath that are the big landowners (who use ghouls as slaves to work on their lands)
beneath this are the shopowners and soldiers of Lee (most of them aren't better then you're average raider, there strenght lies only in numbers ... Only his special scavengers who enslave ghouls troughout the wasteland are quiet skilled)
under this are the poor citizens
and on the bottom are the slaveghouls

you see the quest options :P ... help enslave more people, keep them down and piss on the poor for bad karma ...... lead a revolt of the ghouls for good karma (if you appoint the forgiving ghoul as leader who hasn't anything against the poor humans) or bad if you make the crazy revenge ghoul leader.

idea 3, is more like a place, then a faction
a crazy asylum of a big faction. (like ncr for example)
with high medicin and speech you can help some of them, or let some of them (totally crazy) out by killing the wardens.
Also a good place to put some vault survivors to give us some more info about all the experiments.

The less civilized faction as far that I m concerned are the raiders ( yes, the Fallout lore consider them as a faction)

But yeah, the idea of the 3 powers (and the East BOS) was most likely to happen

There is over 1'000 miles between DC and California, Caesar has no interest or love for the Old World, he commands a civilisation which bans stimpaks and hates democracy, he doesn't care about setting himself up in the Capitol Building and the tribes and slaves which make up his empire have no concept or even care what they are. NCR might want it but not for any particular reason, just the same reason they annex everything they find really.

The Enclave were ordered to DC by John Henry Eden, if DC was that imortant to them as an organisation then they would have survived the bombs there and not of the coast of California.
