Factions you would like to see in Fallout 4?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 5:17 pm

I have an idea for a faction called the Marauders, their a large group that slaughters anybody they come across (they're trying to keep as much anarchy in the Wasteland as possible) they are the ones who hired Talon Company. The reason why their trying to keep anarchy is so their own civilization has time to grow and prosper and eventually take over the area that once was America... I'd love to see a faction taking up D.C. With the D.C. BoS, the Regulators, Rivet City, and Megaton all working together and forming an empire that is quickly spreading... with grass and trees growing in it's northestern corner and water being brought all around and Rivet City as it's Capital with the Citidal it's biggest military base... I' also like to see Ronto (I think 1,000,000% chance it's Toronto), The Pitt, and the Commonwealth

Kinda like it.
Causing chaos for others in order for themselves to prosper.
But.
Do they accept new people?
Meaning: If they make a town go under, will they allow the former citizens of said town to join their community under their reign?
Or will they simply just kill every single person who isn't part of them?
Cause that seems too evil.
Cartoonishly evil in fact.
If they on the other hand have some good qualities for them then I could see them being my favorite major faction (well, second favorite, my Blods are close to my heart. :) )

They usually kill everybody, but with some exceptions... If they find somebody who can build weapons very well then they will most likely allow them to join or if they meet somebody who's an expert at farming (in post apocalyptic conditions) than they'll allow them to join... but they give them a choice, join or die. And your character can join if their an expert at something.

So basically yes, they do allow people to join but only if they bring some skill to the table

I just came up with an idea for an insanely epic raider gang, they call themselves the Black Knights, they ride on motorcycles, (hopefully, as I posted earlier, will be in F4) they only use swords, (strips of metal they find and hammer into shape) hammers, clubs, and battle axes. They believe that for humanity to exist again then you must not really on weapons the fire from a distance(even spears). They are raiders because they attack caravans and strip them of their food, raw materials, guns(to destroy), and water (which is common since Project Purity). Your character can join them.

Ok, instead of VATS they should implement something like FEAR where you can temporarily slow down time to help those with slow reflexes.... your mouse speed and everything will slow down, but it will be easier to aim.

If it is around NYC, the Mole People! Homeless and destitute survived the first strike due to living under all of that concrete, and anyone trapped underground when the bombs hit pretty much had no other option than join them or get microwaved. I will let the devs come up with how they want to go with it. Possibly a ghoul faction or nomadic scavengers.

I would not mind having some kind of tavern/strip club established in the junction of some common trade routes and call it.....The One-eyed Molerat. No weapons, no rules and no manners inside. A good place to have a classic bar room brawl if one was so inclined. It stays in business due to the fact that there is nothing of value within a large radius and enough travelers need a semi-safe place to stop for a rest that it has a sizable population at all times. It might make a nice quest hub for "evil" characters. Possibly owned and operated by EC super mutant deserters/survivors.

If it is around Florida I would like to see a Disney themed kingpin operating out of Disney World.... or the Fallout equivalent. Thugs in mascot outfits....have some fun with it. It would make sense because Disney was/is a highly organized, cut-throat corporation and they took over the area when law and order collapsed. They would take you for a wild ride! :P
Something in the area no-one suspects.... vicious mutated flamingos! JK.... gators and crocs or whatever they have down there. EDIT: giant mutated mosquitoes! I am sure that would be popular.

In the mid-west it would be sweet to see nomadic tribals following the migration of giant wild brahmin herds.

OK, I svck at this.

Maybe the mole people could be SOMEWHAT like Trogs, mutated from radiation the same as ghouls but mutating in far different ways. My thought was they were thin furry creatures with webbed feet that crawled around sewers. Most of them are animals but some are smart enough to understand english and speak with you...

I really like the One-eyed Molerat idea, I'd probably spend hours there for some reason, getting into fights with other people... Do you think they should put in a sort of crime lord in charge of the place?

Confederates.

Given how slavery have been long term "issue" to the wasteland, I hope to see some equivalent of the Confederates; and I prefer them to be Enclave origin for some extra firepower.

Even if slavery was the main cause of the Civil War (and no, lets not have that discussing here), I doubt it's an issue in Fallout. It's just too common to be an issue. I would very much like to see a Southern Confederacy in Fallout, but I see them more along the lines of a ghoul and mutant hunting faction. I have actually though about that for a while and I'm still working it out. Anyway here's what I've got so far

They should use a starless Confederate Battle Flag (to not reveal the number of States under their control)
Obviously, they have a serious problem with any non-human humanoids (at least ghouls and mutants, and maybe even add robots, but NO DEATH CAMPS, THAT'S TOO MUCH)
They have units named after Civil War regiments, like elite infantry would be their Stonewall infantry, elite snipers would be the Palmetto Sharpshooters etc.
They use the Rebel Yell as their Battle cry for obvious reasons
They talk with heavy Suthun Accents, and you have the option to have the subtitles include accents as well (All o' y'all ghouls just gotta get out of our Suthun Confed'racy, 'cause we don't need no [censored] ghouls down South)

While I think Enclave origin goes too far, I can see local Enclave remnants joining them, as without a base, they'd become wastelanders themselves (not pure humans as viewed by the original Enclave). So that would force them to either go kill themselves or accept wastelanders being humans as well while still hunting ghouls and mutants, and that in turn would be in line with this Confederate attitude. I would prefer the Enclave to get their own permanent base though, as in if the Enclave makes an appearance again, they won't be wiped out again (they're too iconic to be gone IMO). Also I would like a fallout in the South to head back in time to roughly Fallout 1 and start over again.

Their very own radio station can play music like, The girl I left behind, Dixie, The Bonnie Blue Flag and much much more. Instead of playing The South Will Rise Again (Keep you confederate money even if it's made of tin) you can turn in any tin cans to be turned into a tin coins, like having $0.01, $0.05 and $0.10 being tin coins and you receive something like 10%

You can turn in Ghoul and mutant heads to receive a bounty. You can rat out ghoul encampments and lead a squad there to eradicate them. There's a ghoul sympathizing faction that dresses up as the Union and calls themselves something in reference to the CW Union. A ghoul supremacist faction might also make a nice response to Confederate politics, plus you might be able to tell the ghoul sympathizers to go rescue the supremacists, possibly resulting in the good guys being ghoulified in maybe a reactor

That's the Confederacy for now

I would however also like to see a cannibalistic faction, one that keeps human slaves as livestock to feed upon them. As a background, they come from a 2 vault experiment, involving sixual cannibalism, might be even more fun if all are addicted to hankey pankey. One vault contains male cannibals and female livestock and the other with female cannibals and male livestock. Their weapons should be named after cooking materials and they're mostly an agricultural faction, maybe even hand them part of a State. Makes you wonder about coq-au-vin doesn't it (and now I'm going to wear power armored underwear, just in case).

In general I would like to see a few evil (or Bad Karma) factions with a thorough and interesting background and along with some nice quests added to them.

That could only happen if The Barnaky Ending is canon.

Now my question to you, is the Barnaky Ending canon?

What do you think the Enclave was trying to do, Richardson was not an idiot and Eden's plans, if not for Broken Steel, would have worked fine as would have Richardson's. Without a god-like player character to beat them the Enclave would have won both times.

Maybe we need a definition of people before we can discuss what the Enclave did to help the people of the USA

Are wastelanders people?
Are ghouls people?
Are mutants people?

I don't think there's that many wastelanders that even consider the last 2 to be people, and what right so they have to call themselves human, after all they were irradiated. So it seems the Enclave tries to restore America as best they could, it's just that well the abominations like wastelanders, ghouls and mutants make their job so difficult.

Obviously, never mind what the actual outcome of their plan would be, if the Enclave won the entire human race from then on would be the Enclave. One faction, with nobody to fight, just rebuilding, progress, every human being from then on born in a world of saftey, never needing to fear hunger or starvation, slavers or just being killed by other wastelanders. The Enclave is not Nazi Germany, they don't want to dicate or rule wastelanders like a cartoon or James Bond villian, they want to rebuild America except it won't have any other countries to fight! They are people faced with a difficult dilema, the definate, 100% survival of the human race can only achieved by a mass genocide, think next time before just saying they are "maniacs".

If the game was set in the U.K. then a faction called "The Chaps" would need to be in order. A ruthless group of keenly attired men of sophistication and good breeding dedicated to bringing back civility, chivalry, and spats to the wasteland. Every day (except Sundays and Bank Holidays) they sally forth from their estate to the feared battle cry of 'tally ho' they purge the ghouls and Bolsheviks (is there really any difference?) from the communities armed to the teeth with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Webley_Revolver, Hunting Shotguns, http://hellinahandbasket.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/sword-cane.jpg, and Cricket Bats. However it is not all doom and gloom no sir! These men also do their part to educate and rebuild the wasteland, teaching people correct grammar ("My friends and I", not "Me and my friends"), play cricket, hold a knife and fork properly, play the piano, and read poetry. Obviously, these gents will be aligned to His/Her Majesty's Government or at least what's left of it, and if you don't like them then you'll bally well have to lump it.

The Enclave itself would either break down and turn itself into a new conflict.

Also power struggle in hte Enclave might not make it a nice ride. And as far as I was aware teh Enclave treats people who are not Soldiers as inferior. Civilians are second class.

And mass genocide no matter what the reason makes you a maniac. The Enclave gave me the vibe of "we are doing this because you are beneath me," basically they thought everyone was dirt beneath their boots. I would also like to say that they are in fact like Nazi Germany, both were trying to create the "pure world". The wasteland is like hell their are problems but the NCR makes progress adn is amking less people starve and the wastes a better place, so why should the Enclave do the same thing and kill everyone while they are at it. Why cant Europeans survive. Because the Enclave's leadership was insane and a maniac.

The human race has survived, tehy are going to survive until someone rebuilds a nuke. I dont see how the Enclave are making the human race survive, they have been through a Nuclear War, slavers and raiders are not going to extinct the human race. It might be hell in areas for a while but it will get better. SO no the Enclave would actually doom the Human Race because their is not enough members for them to have a proper gene pool.
