Yes, i am one of the few that downloaded the leaked beta(flame on) and try out the cryengine 3 sandbox, the fact is here:
1. When sandbox 3 crashes, the message clearly indicates( Sandbox 2[][]* has crashed), indicating that cryengine 3 is probably just a upgrade from cryengine 2, they did not actually program it from scratch for what i would say.
2. Many are mad about the fact that Crysis 2 pc has this "press start to startgame" thing, i think the reason is very obvious that since the engine runs on all 3 platforms, they very likely share the actual files aswell(maps, textures, language packs..etc) so they only worked on one game that is compatible through their game engine on all 3 platforms or to put it more simply
PC -----------> Cryengine3 for pc --------> ACTUAL game files
PS3 -----------> Cryengine 3 for PS3 ------------> Actual game files
XBOX ----------> Cryengine 3 for XBOX --------> Actual game files
with possibly optimization in textures for different platforms
3. Autoaim
again, this is meant to be multiplatform, so i'm guessing that in the process of programming, this feature was implanted into the engine but compiled for different platforms, a example would be you can actually code a game that works for both Pc and xbox using microsoft's XNA game studio, which supports both( so same code, but it will compile for pc and xbox making them work on both platforms)
after saying all that, i do have a few things to say
Protection issues: Seems like many bought and can't play the game, so this is definitely one of crytek's faults and i think they should compensate their customers, after all you seem too much into protecting this game from piracy(which is not really a threat imo, considering the multiplayer element), that you shoved dirt down your customer's throats.
One more, the DX11 issue, i understand that this will probably boost your console sales, but let's not forget that pc and console versions all cost the same...and given that you guys took nearly a extra year to work on the game i was really expecting DX11 as soon as the game arrives, that being a big downer, i'm sure most of us are dissapointed about this and unless this is a deal with Nvidia to launch with the GTX 590, i hope you guys have a good explanation.
