title says it all. He's following me as a companion and all other options are there he just doesn't have the option to train me in archery. Anyone know of a solution or maybe something I have to do? My other file hes a companion as well and he will train me in archery =(

What is your archery skill at, and have you tried talking to him at a different time of the day? I don't know if the trainers in Skyrim have 'schedules' where they only train during certain hours. I don't think he can tray you past 50 in archery, either.

he wont train you if he is your follower. tell him to get lost and try again.

There is also a cap to how many times you may use a trainer per lvl.

"only 5 skill points may be trained at a trainer per level across all skills" - UESP WIki

If you have already trained 5 times at your current lvl, you will not be able to employ another trainer until your next level.

He's got common training capabilities: ie he'll train you up to 50, but past that you're on your own. Aela is an expert- she'll take you to 75. Finally the trainer in thieves guild is a master, and will take you to 95. Hope this helps.

He got killed by a dragon in my game, later he was still laying on the road so took his clothes and then dragged him into the river.

thanks so much everyone. Didn't realize it but in my other game my archer is at 15. In this file it's 58. That explains it.
