JUST SAW A MESSAGE FAILED TO PROTECT TENPINES BUFF.

when i loaded game i couldn't find any quest relating to this place.

But then a few minutes it came up again.

[I was dying a lot] saw the same thing over and over

IS there some other menu I need to watch to see about these type of'missions'?

Tenpines is one of your settlements. While you were away from there it was attacked. That triggered a quest in the Miscellaneous (bottom of the quest list) section. Apparently if you don't bother to go there in a timely fashion, you get that message you've seen.

Personally, I think those quests calling for you to run to the aid of a settlement are too subtle. There should be sirens and warnings blared to catch your attention. As it is, if you fail to note the brief 10-second message that pops up with all the other notifications, the only way to catch that there is something that needs to be done is to check your Misc. quests every ten minutes.

You got to be kidding about looking at your miscellaneous quests every 10 mins?????. This is once again proof that Beth failed to finish a game....and I will admit it was better than the Skyrim launch...but you failed to improve that same lame engine you used on Skyrim....I am guessing you used the same engine on ESO....because it is now a common thing were you login into the game....and Your toon falls out of the sky and dies...get to work Beth?

Thanks for that CaptainPatch.

This game has sooo many rough edges. I wish I'd been more patient and waited a while after release like i did for skyrim.

Even having to sometimes use 'Tab' and sometimes use 'esc' to close menu windows i find unnecessarily complicated and detracts from fluid game play.

But my biggest complaint is for me Fallout4 ISN'T a RPG! :(

It's an action game with some story and many side quests!

Not that I'm blaming anyone for this, it's no one faults that's just what Bethesda have chosen to make, probably for marketing purposes.

Console gamers, it seems, like more nonstop 'wangbang' and less time scratch the noggin over stats...But not I!

In a good rpg (for me) a level up is a momentous occasion and requires much deliberation over stat allocation, and check manuals and stat charts! FUN!

Fallout4 is (probably) a good as anything else in the market once they debug it, especially the crashes tp desktop

:lmao: True.

But seriously why can't they just stick to COD or Battlefield Whatsit 2X Recon Black Ops 14?

Fallout was a true thinking game, but it is slowly being filtered of detailed content and players freedom of choice. I actually dread to think of what they are going to come up with for Fallout 5 :unsure2:

Well this is a generalizing comment if i ever saw one! Not all console gamer's are not prohibited to just liking mindless not much thinking shooting games! I for one am solely a console player and have the exact same qualms as you both! So please don't lay generalized attacks on console players for the route of which Bethesda has taken with the Fallout game, its not needed and its not fair. Rant over. and just again to clarify i wish Fallout 4 was more statistical in its approach, this coming from a console gamer!

No idea why people even respond to people like the person you're quoting. They're a waste of space and only out to get a rise from people. I mean, it's akin to a console player stating everyone on PC only plays the sims or one of the numerous other games the hipsters like to knock.

It's even more baffling that they still hang around, wasting their life playing these sort of games if they think certain games have evolved into something they can't really relate to. After all, there's enough games out there to be getting on with rather than wasting time on something that isn't doing anything for them.

Yeah there is a pop up.

I have missed them before though only to see the "failed" pop up later.

I don't notice the pop-ups usually... mainly because I'm dodging infinite grenades from enemies and focused on hitting my targets. I've started making it a habit to just check the misc quests once a game day for any defense missions.

Also, big thing... you can consolidate your settlements. Any of the little ones with a couple unnamed 'settlers' can be disbanded by sending those settlers to one of your major settlements. With less you potential targets you get proportionally less attacks AND you can consoldate defenses on the remaining bigger settlements to drive down the number of attacks even more. I wish I had done that from the start... now I'm playing cleanup... and discontinuining a supply route is very annoying! I really wish I hadn't set up a huge supply network as well.

Yep way too easy to miss a pop up. There should be some notifyer that you have to click ok or maybe give you an option to fast travel there.

I agree this game is rough around the edges. As an example after you have collected a bunch of holotapes, you go into your pip boy to play a new one and there is no indication as to which ones you have already played. In 3 if I remember right if there was any books, letters tapes etc that you had not read/played there was an indicator to that affect. That is just one example. Not to mention the dumbing down of the RPG side of things.

Anyway I am having fun playing I am just worried about the direction the game is going in. There are plenty of open world "shooters" out there that are much more refined then this game, like GTA so if the Fallout series is headed in that direction then I will be very disappointed.
