Fails, and blunders?

In this game Bethesda has chosen to stray from what this society, and gaming community always demands....reallity. Choosing the Parkour, off-beat character designs, and gameplay, I think they went right with their choice. Just like all games, there is room for improvement. It's in these flaws that we find ways to make games better. Will there ever be a perfect game? No, but we can still have fun right?

What were your inital thoughts on the game?

Slight improvement. Because I think the game is fun, very unique. But there are still a bunch of thing that should be changed/fix. Namely the the texture loading problem, and the lag (which I have had no problems with but other people have), I also believe they there isn't much content on the disc, this can easily be fixed via dlc. Specifically new maps.

Has Bethesda changed the first person genre?

No. Simply put there is nothing groundbreaking here. Sure the style is different, and the S.M.A.R.T system is nice. But really all we have here is a team focused, class based shooter with some slight tweaks and innovation to the current FPS genre.

That said, brink is still an amazingly fun, unique (but not too unique) in my opinion. I hope your all enjoying it.

It's not Bethesda. They are just the publisher. Splash Damage made the game, and Splash Damage has been making these types of games for a while.
But I freaking love this game. Yeah there are flaws. AI is annoying and it lags sometimes (although i played last night and only had one instance of it lagging at all) but I thoroughly enjoy it. I'm way looking forward to the free DLC coming in June :D

My bad. You are very right about it being Splash Damage.
