[RELz] Fake Patch (Thread IV)

Post » Fri Oct 16, 2009 4:20 am

has anyone figured out which bugs (if at all) occur w/Broken Steel and Fake 1.5? Please let me know.

Ones I know of:
1: Evil characters cannot go above level 20 or the game will crash
2: Sarah Lyons (& possibly followers) sometimes won't enter the project purity control room with you during "Take it Back"
3: Olney powerworks tesla chamber is invisible
4: Most terminals at Adams AFB don't work unless broken steel is the first file loaded after fallout3.esm (the pitt has the same problem with the ammo press)
5: Tesla cannon won't one-shot vertibirds (probably not fake patch related as 1.5 users are also reporting this problem)
6: Water doesn't change aroung the Jefferson Memorial after completion of "Take it Back"

I have personally made a fix for #2, #3, & #4 on that list (available at http://home.comcast.net/~angleae/site/ and a workaround for #1 (level 21 evil characters)

If this is the case, which patch SHOULD I install which is official? I'd like to get the DLC to work, as I haven't gotten the radio freqs for The Pitt and O:A either.

Install FOSE and both O:A and The Pitt will kick in with 1.0.0.15 assuredly.

Do I just install and run it, or is there some other stuff I have to do? I hate to ask for such specific demands, I just want to know what I have to do, to a T before going through with it.

Hi!
I successfully activated Project Purify and returned to The Citadel, but now, for everywhere I see red and white signs....what is this?
How I can disable this?

Thanks!

So there are still bugs regarding Broken Steel with the fake patch then, right? I have O:A and The Pitt working by the manual extraction ... if I do the same to Broken Steel it will be full of bugs? I assume the OP of this thread would have a breakdown of how to get BS working flawlessly if it were possible... right? I wonder if it's worth just updating my game with the official patches so I can play it. What are the disadvantages?

You must tend to you sArchiveList or extract your DLC .bsa's per the instructions in the OP.

BS won't be full of bugs playing it in the same manner as OA and TP, but you will want the Olney Powerworks plugin and the RemapWaterType work-around and the Tesla canon won't knock vertibirds down with one shot. Otherwise, BS does work with 1.0.0.15, but my character isn't > lvl 20, so there might be other problems I haven't experienced. Also, some of the teminals using ForceRedraw in BS don't seem to work with 1.0.0.15. There are bound to be ways to overcome this, but I'm reluctant to put too much time into it when it is likely that 1.6 will be universally satisfactory.

If 1.6 is problematic, I'll put more time and energy into Fake Patch and make a merged BS work-around plugin set (one with and one without the water remap).
