Alyosha cut off the deathworm's head, and tossed the body into a frying pan. He lit up the oven and put the frying pan over the fire. The germs and bacteria slowly melted away from the worm. Alyosha turned aroun and opened his refrigerator, getting out a half-filled bottle of vodka. He opened his cupboard, getting out a drinking glass, and filled it up with vodka. He put away the bottle and checked on breakfast. The worm was cooked to a darker and crispier version. Breakfast was served. Alyosha put out the flame and put the worm on a plate, then sat down and ate.
He gulped down the rest of the vodka and put the glass and the plate away, then got out his coat. He pushed his arms through while leaving the room, and tossed on his Ushanka. Today was going to be a good day. Alyosha walked off the steps in front of the building, and walked to the local bar. The snow crunched below his feet, as snowflakes fell from the sky. He got in front of the bar and pulled his hands from his pocket, and opened the door. The bar was pretty busy today. Alyosha took a seat at the counter next to another person.
He ordered a beer, staring around the bar. Same old locals in the same place. As the bartender came out with the beer, some Remnant Soldiers came through the door. "Oh, Christ.. Not these guys again.." The bartender muttered. The three soldiers came to the counter. "Hey, peasant, it's time to pay the bills." the middle soldier told. "Look, this is my bar, you fools don't own it, I do! I built it with my bare hands! I won't pay you a single ruble."
The soldier got out a pistol and pressed it against the bartender's forehead. "You sure you wanna take that path, peasant?" he said. The bartender's face got red as he opened the old cash register and got out seventy percent of his earnings. He gave the money to the soldier. The soldier put the gun away and said, "That's more like it. We'll be back next week, and you better have our money." The soldier noticed the beer in front of Alyosha. He looked Alyosha in the eyes as he took it. "Why, thank you." he pulled down his facemask and drank the beer. He tossed it onto the floor as he left with the other two soldiers.
Alyosha looked back at the bartender. "What are you going to do about those guys? They're just going to keep taking your money until you have nothing left." he said. The bartender slammed the cash register closed. "I don't know. If I don't leave the city, I'm going to end up a beggar or dead. I really don't have much a choice than to give them my money, because the soldiers guard the city's exits." Alyosha sighed, then ordered another beer. He handed the bartender a couple extra rubles. "I know it isn't much, but whatever helps.." he said. "No, it's okay. I'll go get your drink." The bartender left to get another beer.
