Fall out Xbox live/psn?

Post » Sat Jul 11, 2009 10:25 pm

Hello
I am not sure if gamesas still hold the rights to Fall out 1, 2 and tactics.
But i was thinking.

It would not take too much effort to pump the graphics up a little, and remaster the games, sticking them both on Xbox and PSN, maybe even the wii ?

If this could be done you could market the Game bundle as " fall out Classic" selling it at around 1800 Microsoft points, or 15 dollars US.
The strange thing is, a lot of fall out fans, have never touched or even read about the first games, or were born when fall out came out... So it would most probably be a big hit.
Achievements could be added.
Also if you Beat the game, and get all the achievements you will unlock a code, so when fall out online comes out you get The classic bundle, with some cool items.
As well as Xbox live avatar Custom items.

P.s you guys should really give me a job with all these ideas in my head.
Just a thought.

Sorry, can't do it. We only have the rights for the original games on their original platforms. We cannot port FO1/2/Tactics to other platforms.

I think their legal department probably already has their hands full with trying to get Fallout Online out the door. I can't imagine that a game released in 1997 is a big priority for them. I'm as big a fallout dork as the rest of you, but I'm not really into buying a 15 year old game that I already own on another platform. And if I'm not into it, it's unlikely that the mass gamer market (think Call of Duty players) is going to spend money on it either. So while it would be nice, don't hold your breath. :(

As computers advance Fall out 1-tatics becomes harder to play, it crashes, slows down, freezes all because the computers are to powerful.

Does not matter if the call of duty market is huge, fall out has a good fan base , of old, and new players. A remastering of those games in HD would be icing on the cake for any new fall out fans, or any old fall out fans. The option to sweeten the deal with Possible fall out online content just makes it that much better.
The call of duty games are dieing, fewer people play them, and many gamers are looking for a Fix till games like crisis 2 come out, or battle field 3.

Slipping the game pack into the arcade of xbox live, or psn during a slow week for the gaming industry will most likely generate 20k+ downloads, If it is show on IGN, Game spot And achievement hunter you could see that number increasing ten fold. Marketed around 10-15 Dollars US , you look for around quarter of a million.
Not bad for work that has already been done ;)

A remastering of those games in HD

1) This is something different altogether and even more unlikely given the substantial costs and further legal complications.

The call of duty games are dieing

2) If you think this is true, you clearly don't know what you're talking about. Call of Duty: Black Ops was released less than a year ago and is one of the highest grossing games of all time. In fact, it broke records on it's release and after 24 hours had sold more than 5.6 million copies. The FPS genre isn't going anywhere.

3) It's spelled "dying."

edit: Listen. No one wants to see what you've described more than me. But it's just not happening any time soon.

On the terms of call of duty black ops, yes it broke records, but if you follow any utube call of duty commentator or play that game for more then 1 hour, you can see all the issues with it, I admit, i saw on my friends list so many people playing that game at the start, but now three months into it i see only a few people playing it, and a fraction of those who bought the game go on it during the day. Those players are looking for their next fix, crysis is looking to be the new big thing, home front to, and battle field is set to take over.

I do not think it would cause legal issues, if gamesas can expand the rights to allow them to stick f1,f2, and tatic's . Bethesda sue the pants of any one they can , but all gamesas would be doing is expanding their right to distribute on console, a small team of two , three people, over a month or three could remaster the games in HD quality, and add achievements.

Cnt sue some one for using their own work ;) and just expanding their focus, Bethesda bought the rights to produce new fall out games, they did not buy the rights for the old ones.

And i am at work at the moment ;) on the night shift hehe, using my phone, the spelling will not be great lol.

As stated, they don't have the rights to port the games to any platform. I don't even think gamesas has the rights to do an HD version on PC either.
