Fallout 4 alt+tab bug, with video

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 11:53 am

Whenever I alt tab to and from Fallout 4, I get this very strange visual bug over the pause menu, and a downgrade in the resolution of the game. Alt+tab+enter changes the game back to normal after repeatedly doing it, usually 2-5 times.

I'm using a 1360x768 monitor and running the game in full screen at the same resolution.

Does anyone know what's causing this/how to prevent this?

Using a gtx 770 4gb, 8gb ram, and an i5 - 4570.

Alt + Tab functionality is not guaranteed. It is much improved from earlier Bethesda Softworks games, but don't rely on it.

I've had it where my mouse will only work in the top left hand corner of the screen.

Always save before using Alt + Tab.

Yeah, usually I'd rectify problems with alt tabbing by running the game in borderless windowed, but it doesn't have my TV's resolution on the launcher, maybe messing around with the ini settings will allow me to run borderless windowed in the correct resolution. I've just been trying to edit the wiki a lot lately but this alt tab bug is killing me.

Are you on Windows 8.x? Looks like the charm/sidebar.

I'm assuming you're using the latest video driver from the manufacture (as opposed to Microsoft's version of the driver).

I've just updated my nvidia drivers, and the problem seems to be gone now. If you would like to insult me for overlooking such a simple and obvious solution I will wholeheartedly accept the punishment.

Tyvm damaged.
