Fallout 3 and Pyffi

Post » Thu Aug 04, 2011 2:25 am

Hello everyone!

Coming from Oblivion I know about the usefulness of Pyffifying the meshes in game, but I'm wondering if it was ever determined if there are any advantages of using it in Fallout 3 and what meshes are safe to process. Is there an inifile to use specifically for Fallout 3 or can I use the one from Oblivion?

Any answers would be appreciated!

The general concensus is it's not really needed. Fallout's dual core capabilitied mean tha game runs much better and smoother than Oblivion, so any improvements Pyffi makes are negligable.

However, of more concern is that it's never been set up to work for FO, so it corrupts certain types of meshes and renderes the game unplayable. I think the architechture or the landscape meshes get messed up, and cause the game to crash when being loaded.
