I know one person that owns a PSP.

So I imagine it would be a pretty stupid idea from a profit point of view.

The DS would be more reasonable, thanks in part to its mouse-like stylus.

Probably, people think of all kinds of things.

I somewhat doubt that that person you know is the only PSP owner in the world.

I would have loved this idea before my PSP broke.

I know, but I somewhat doubt that the PSP is popular enough to merit the porting of two old cult PC games. Whereas the DS has sold far more copies, and regardless would be a better platform for them.

I know quite a few people with PSPs (they use them as media players basically), but I agree with the idea that the DS would be a superior handheld for those games. The stylus is a perfect match.

lol anecdotal evidence. The fact that you know only one person who owns one doesn't change the fact that there are 50 million overall.

I own a psp and if it's in 3D then the psp can handle it---heck that's what it was built for.

They aren't 3d. 1&2 are isometric 2d RPGs.

I would think that simply due to the stylus, it might be better suited to the DS than the PSP (though the game is turn-based, so having to take a bit longer to point and click isn't going to have that huge an impact, either.) I already have those games on my PC so I probably wouldn't bother buying it - but it might also expose new players to the game series, and I don't see as how that would be a bad thing.

What I would rather see if we're going in that direction is some new Fallout games that are presented with similar gameplay to the original games. That seems to me like a good fit for a portable game system like the DS and PSP (I'd rather see it on DS because of the aforementioned stylus - and the fact that I own a DS and not PSP.) I would imagine there'd also be a number of veteran Fallout fans who would buy the system just to be able to play a new Fallout game with the classic gameplay intact.

I see it being bad. Most people with a PsP or DS (and mind you, I said most) are basically children. They've grown up in the era of rapidly advancing 3d graphics and for most of them, if the game doesn't look great, it svcks. You sit a bunch of kids down in front of a computer playing Fallout 1 or 2 and I would about bet that after 15 minutes tops, probably at least 90% of the kids would be writing them off as crappy games.

Most people with DSes are actually probably considerably older than you or I am. They aren't that interested in this sort of thing either, but either way what you're saying makes no sense. You're arguing that they think games need great graphics or they svck... and yet the DS isn't capable of particularly great graphics (there are exceptions, but its best sellers are not exceptional-looking games), and several other games that are either ports of older titles or games done in the style of older titles have done well on the platform. Similar situation on the PSP, really, with the success of games on the platform being seemingly unrelated to their aesthetics.

Really, it might be best to do some research before making statements like those in the future.

DS would definitely do better.

yep it would with the combination of the stylus and its sheer popularity.

I strangely want Van Buren to see a release for DS. Simplistic 3D is something I think the DS is amazing at doing and the controls are simple.

D-pad is movement, up is forwards, left and right is strafe, and down is walk back. You use the stylus to direct where your character is going and where he/she aims. When you have targeted an enemy, you hit the Left shoulder button to shoot at them. Other buttons can be hotkeys and start is options menu and select is to open up your Pip-boy. A basic display showing the view of where you are is on the bottom screen as well as health info etc and on the top screen is the amount of ammo you have for your weapon and what weapon you have. The top screen also has a map.

I think that would be superb.
