FALLOUT 1 - available? Freeware? (Abandonware?)

Anyone know if Fallout 1 is still available anywhere, or if it's abandonware yet?

You can also purchase the first 2 games complete with recoding for work on XP and Vista from Good Old Games for about 5 dollars each. Great deal considering you would actually own them instead of running it through some downloadable player like Gametap.

Fallout 1&2 are not Abandonware and Bethesda don't have any rights on these games.

If you want Fallout 1 only, get the GameTap version, it's free. If you want them both, buy them from GOG, it's just 5$. And they guarantee it's XP and Vista compatible. You can't go wrong.

Repeat after me:

There is no such thing as abandonware.

It is not legal to download any game unless it has either been purchased with a license (granted by the folks who own the copyright rights, or someone they've let do it in their behalf), or been released into the public domain.

Software is only in the public domain if the rights holder has specificically said it is in the public domain.

The rumour about games being "Free for all" after 5/10/20 years is just that, a rumour - copyright periods in most countries start at 50 years, and often go up to 70 years.

Piracy is Bad, M'kay. And it supports communism (5 bonus points if you get the joke).
