Fallout a beginners game ?

I play in 3rd Person, 1st makes me motion sick.

You have my sympathies, both for the motion sickness and for having to put up with Gamebryo's horrible 3rd-person camera.

It is really bad for me, I can't play the game in anything other than 1080p on a 40 inch or above. Missed out on playing FO3 when it was new because we didn't have a good enough tv.

The only real problem w/ 3rd person in NV is that the reticle doesn't point exactly where it should.

Would that be possible to fix in a patch?

Agreed, unless a weapon has a scope don't bother aiming in 3rd Person. But I can enter 1st to aim at least :)

To be fair, thats a problem that we have since Fallout 3,

As for difficulty, they are both challenging, but not so hard like Fallout 1 and 2 or even tactics,

Yeah, I'd say easy. You're not really punished for making poor decisions and the AI is the biggest problem with combat.

It's still fun, just not really as challenging as it could be.

Seriously; does anyone know if it would be possible to move the 3rd person reticle with a patch?

Defiantly F1 and F2 were far harder..up to a certian part of course. But F3 and FNV can be a walk in the park once you reach level 15.

New vegas would be very difficult for a newcomer if they play on very hard/hardcoe.
For the average person who visits a fallout forum I imagine we are better than average and know how to play more effectively/find the best weapons etc.
You say you play a lot of games so of course you will find it easier than others

OP what games do you play that are actually HARD?

You know, just to give us a little more clarity vis-a-vis your point of view.

The ability to change the difficulty level does not make this game a sandbox game. Sandbox games are games that the players have quite a bit of control over the enviroment, economics etc. Look up Star Wars Galaxies, agrueably the biggest sandbox game there ever was.

On to the OP, I agree the game can be easy, but forcing hardcoe is overkill. Not everyone plays the same, some people like to play easymode and have no challenge, they play games to relax. Game developers have to try and make games for the boradest spectrum of players.

I'm not speaking of the difficulty slider. I'm speaking of the fact that you can play the game with a largely non-combat oriented character. With my first character I literally talked my way out of the biggest fight in the game. You can also ignore or accept quests as you like, including the main quest. You can take along companions or not. You can max stealth to avoid combat altogether in many cases. So again, min/maxers will find this game easy becuase the game gives you so many options and if you combine them correctly you will pwn everything, even on the highest difficulty. But if you put together a character with some combat limitations (i.e., roleplay a little), you'll find the game perfectly challenging. At least I do.

Edit: "sandbox" was the wrong term. My mistake. But I think it can be understood by what I mean up above.

i supoose but i will say this again you should have to go out of your way to try and make a game difficult

Actually I like peggle, but it is incredibly easy. Not something you would expect from a post apocalyptic world.

As some who voted very easy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCGeNNvG0Z4.

Of course that map is so loaded with health and ammo and with plenty of room to maneuver that all you need is normal-ish reaction times. Now something like Hell Revealed on the other hand... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6zMyJPpUyk&feature=related :cold:

Yup, i'm of the older generation of gamers. I still play those today to keep my reaction times up, and have a credible reason to whine how easy games today are :hehe:

No, i wouldn't want Fallout that diifcult, but a bit more of that and a lot less "peggle". But that's why i'm on PC ;)

Aye. I can only imagine. I play a lot of counter strike, and other games. I have some pretty damn good reflexes, also play RPG's so "building" a character comes naturally and so does minmaxing. [censored] Fallout NV/3 was so easy.

completly agree fallout 2 and 3 couldnt be much different and fallout 3 its pretty much non-cannon which is a disgrace for an rpg while it was a great game but thats like spiting on the fans face

I would like to know how fo3 is a non canon game in your opinion.
