I think it is.
They even trumpeted the [censored] dog companion in marketing, lol, but seriously.. it feels like they've ripped the heart and soul of their signature games out this time around. It just does not feel like a Fallout game, it just does not feel like a Bethesda game.
People here keep saying "Oh but everyone says this every new release", this is simply not true. I still love Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Skyrim as much as I did the first day I played them. I still consider Skyrim to be disappointingly shallow and and inferior in many aspects to past games as it was the day I played it.
My opinions on these games has not changed at all with the next installment, my opinion on Fallout 4 will not change should Bethesda release another title they have the audacity to call an RPG. I think certain people have just been waiting too long on this game to give in and admit what a crippling disappointment it is. It's a sort of defense mechanism to protect them from the grim realization that the last bastion of AAA RPG development has fallen.
It feels like some ridiculously early April Fool's, it feels like this game was sabotaged. The dialogue system in particular I just can't fathom how this was ever considered an acceptable quality. The way it has been implemented feels as though it was shoehorned in within the last year of development.
I'm still in shock at how bad this game is. We all were worried after Skyrim, we all were worried as more and more information seeped out before release. But I don't think any of us thought they would go this far..
Thanks, Bethesda.. thanks for the decades of entertainment. Thanks for finally giving me the kick I needed to wash my hands of AAA games for good.
