Fallout 3 is a better game than Skyrim

Its more immersive and challenging. The world is designed better, the menu systems and customisation options are better. Combat is better, killcams are optional, the engine is more stable, the world is more exciting and fun, dungeons are not linear, enemies dont have kill cams, its darker and grittier and has weapon degredation.

How did Beth go from the masterpiece that is Fallout 3 to Skyfail?

And it's quests have choices. Sure they are choices between "obvious" and "stupid evil", but they exist

I agree that Skyrim's linear dungeons were disappointing. The player/NPC dialogue is practically non-existent (Fetch this for me? Okay, I'll do it.). The game goes out of balance far too quickly and easily - weapons do too much damage, armor is uber powerful, money and loot are far too plentiful. The game is challenging up to about level 25-30 and then becomes tedious, repetitious and boring. I can take down ancient dragons with three arrows and the biggest bosses with two swings of my blade and everything else with a single hit. That makes the 'fun' of smithing, enchanting and alchemy useless at higher levels - there is no point after a point.

On the positive side, the world is HUGE and the visual depth is amazing. You can mount horses and dragons, that's a cool improvement.

Overall, I have enjoyed Skyrim as much as FO3, but it does seem to be more about quantity than quality.

Interestingly, it's the same game engine as FO3, but with a modified scripting language.

Fallout 3 is clearly a better RPG then Skyrim but I have to disagree with it being a better game. At least Skyrim is playable for me unlike Fallout 3 which freezes too often for my liking.

I get more replayability from Skyrim, and have put ten times the Hours into Skyrim as Fallout 3. I do not dislike Fallout 3, but set endings always have annoyed Me personally. I have the same complaint about New Vegas.
